We all knew this was coming. Politicians have been making outlandish promises for a long time knowing that their programs would eventually go broke. Social Security, Medicaid, and a whole host of other programs were designed to elicit votes and it was known that those programs are unsustainable.

The difference is that in the past, the politicians would retire from office and their chief beneficiaries would die before the money ran out. Reid, Pelosi, and Zero have the distinction of making such promises and being unable to deliver while still in office. The future is here, welcome to it. For the ignoramuses raving that their homes and cars would be paid for under big O, got any comment now, hmmmm???

Is it still a mystery why socialism fails every time? Socialist economies always collapse because they run out of money, and the current US Government is no exception. There’s not enough money or attainable resources in the universe to sustain the programs of the liberals and their RINO lapdogs. No ifs, ands, or buts. The end is coming soon, it’s only a matter of whether the USG cuts it off and enacts realistic policies or it just eventually collapses under its own weight.

So, what have we learned in 2,065 years?

“The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
— Cicero , 55 BC

Evidently, nothing.

The folks who refuse medicare will also refuse social “security”.

Yep, there are some folks out there who seek nothing from the fed.gov.

It makes no sense that they do this. They make it mandatory that you take the Medicare then they demand to be the first payer.
WHY on earth would they do that? When you pay a private insurance company, why would the government even want to pay first leaving 20% of the bill to the private insurance company.

the reason is easy. To make people not buy private insurance and put them out of business so that the government can control all of the health care.

Medical care costs me $1300.00 a month for myself and family. It is getting right out of control. If the government wouldn’t demand Medicare I woudl be paying a lot less.

It is hugely frightening that the state might think to force Medicare upon all, whether they want it or not.

Full disclosure: My wife and I both have Part A only (which pays toward hospitalization; it comes at no extra charge, after retirement). We have declined Part B (which pays toward doctors' bills) and Part D (which is the prescription-drug benefit), since our BC/BS is far superior to Medicare in these regards.

Only someone who views statism as a good thing might defend the government's apparent desire to require the purchase of Medicare for all who qualify.

Retired Military over 65 are forced onto Medicare in order to get their Tricare for Life as their secondary ins.

And Medicare patients better get use to being told WE NO LONGER TAKE NEW MEDICARE PATIENTS.

I’ve had 2 ortho docs tell me that in the past 6 weeks. I have fibromyalgia which means I get tendonitis frequently.

Our Primary Care doc is retiring rather than practice under Deathcare.
