Yep.

Last year Christmas the reports were a passenger set off some fire crackers while over Detroit.

The press could not get the answers from the fedgov.

Passengers on the plane broke the story of the underwear bombers’ attempt.

exactly, for something that is sold in boxes of 1,000 and 5,000 its not very much.

sounds like the media spin when police arrest someone with “an arsenal and thousands of rounds of ammo” when its someone with a two .22 rifles and 3 of the walmart 550 round $8 boxes.

Well you do understand the MSM seems to think everyone should be as well-armed and supplied with ammunition as Barney Fife, don't you?

And that anything over that is in excess.

“Wow, that’s like two dollars worth.”

You can take ammo in luggage, but not primers, percussion caps, or the like.

This guy made a mistake, fer shur!

It does not matter how many at this point. He had “some” and “some” went POP!

Don’t you have to question how gently the baggage handler handled the baggage to cause a primer to detonate. Were the primers packaged or loosly thrown in a can or box?

No code, just the media once again displaying their abysmal ignorance of firearms and ammunition issues. And, of course, their all-too-predictable tendancy to go in heat at the mere mention of guns and ammunition.

Are we sure these were in his luggage and not in his jacket? May have been one of those primer coats I've heard about. bah-dump-pish

I wondered too. You usually must work to get a primer to go off.

Even ramp rats, I thought previously, could not get that kind of force.

Aside- I knew a guy who made bullet clocks for competition awards. Typically a circle of .38 shells with undimpled primers and a clock movement from Micheal’s or the like on a nice stained wooden plaque. He took .38 shells, cleaned them up, and pressed in “inerted” primers. I asked him about his “inerting” process, and he said he put the primers in a 6” Griswold frying pan, put a “spatter screen” over it, and heated them on a gas stove until they popped! I never felt comfortable eating burgers over there unless they came off the grille...

I can’t think of a method of accidentally igniting a primer in a bag... If UPS is able to handle 5000 in a box, hundreds in a bag should not be an issue. The accidental ignition story stinks like a search for drugs that came up with primers.
