How can she stop JE from taking his children, he is their father? This does not make any sense to me.

There are two ways to die naturally. In peace and in angst. If we are to believe the article written, it appears Elizabeth died in angst. Anger may have some effect on the nature of how cancer eats away at the body. I’ve heard so many times that laughter and love have healing properties.

I don’t get how one spouse (now dead) can stop another from making major decisions for their minor children. I can see everything else she did in terms of gifts, asset protection, etc. They are his children too, she did not have more than 50% say in their lives alive, how can she when she’s dead?

Also, as for “poor” Elizabeth, she was in her glory as her husband sued Doctors and ravaged NC medical practice, talking about “hearing those embryos talk to me..” he sent malpractice insurance soaring out of site and ruined an entire industry.
Then he builds a 28,000 sq. ft. estate with a 17,000 sq. ft. “Play barn” in Chapel Hill. She knew what was going on and took full advantage to play victim. She star-gazed at occupying the White House and used her medical condition as a weapon to draw votes.
It is too bad young children lose their mother before they grow to adulthood. Elizabeth Edwards is a victim like Hillary is a victim...

I can understand her anger and hurt she was treated very badly by her husband. She could very well have planned all these things but I would not like to go to meet God with so much hate in my heart. I hope that under the same circumstances I would forgive him.
While her husband would make anyone's skin crawl, she chose to publicly stand by him and to try to foist his incompetent and supremely blackmailable carcass on our country.
While nothing she could do to her husband could tarnish her at this point, she was far from a "lovely woman."

Her bitterness and lack of forgiveness has no impact on the idiots eternal progression (read that the low-life John Edwards) but is a significant stain on her soul. Imagine meeting the Lord with that hatred still in your heart. I pray I never do so.
If they weren’t divorced she didn’t have much say in anything that was not her sole and seperate property. I’m sorry about what happened to her, both in having a cheating husband and in getting cancer, but she can’t keep him from his children and she has no say over money he earned.

In all the other matters, I say good for her. Although I don't see how the order that John has no authority over his own small children could ever stand up in court, she was a lawyer and should know that.
After reading the Examiner account; several thoughts.
Elizabeth Edwards had every right to be pizzed at John; but there is no escaping the scripture that states that if we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us. Pretty shakey ground for someone about to step out into eternity, to be yelling unforgiveness to someone; even a cheating, lowlife scumbag husband. She should have left the revenge in God’s hands. He is SO much more thorough than anything Liz could do. Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Also; I don’t think that a lot of the stuff SHE thought she could control after her death merely by SAYING so, will NOT actually hold water. Courts are pretty edgy about allowing someone “a hand from the grave.”
