>> Whats the difference between a 75 pound attacking dog, and a 75 pound attacking dog?
The dog obviously knew the guy was a dick. Unfortunately, the dog didn’t realize the guy was an ignorant dick.
I doubt the homeowner had a sign in place at a height anyone could read.
Do you imagine they have irrigation systems for their shrubs?
For the UMPTEENTH time - count 'em - the fence many be invisible but the control collar is NOT...
Invisible fences are not only prevalent now but many neighborhoods require them over a visible fence. that said, an invisible fence works in conjunction with a VERY visible control collar.
Any officer that panics and shoots an animal without spotting this collar should not be issued a gun and let lose on the public.
“At 35 mph how much time would it take the dog to reach the officer?”
Just to clarify, only dogs in the sight hound family [i.e. Greyhounds, Salukis, Ibizans] are able to attain that speed and over.
My Ibizans *easily* out run my Doberman even when he’s going “full tilt” which *might* be 20 mph, on a good day.
Regarding wolves:
“They can run at speeds of 36 to 38 miles per hour for _short bursts_ while chasing prey.”
Goldens are not known for their running prowess.
My dog learned quick. She'll still bark at folks wandering by, but she stops well short of the barrier no matter how fast she's moving initially...

Do they no longer carry nightsticks?
Cops are NOT your friends.
This coming from a guy that denies knowing mail carriers use mase and pepper spray to protect themselves against dogs?
The American public are not the enemy, nor are cops soldiers.
If you keep going back to the news article you'll find that it changes ~ almost in sequence with our questions.
Simply amazing. Makes me think the "newsie" responsible for this one tracks FreeRepublic! Or, maybe somebody keeps calling them asking for more stuff, more stuff.
Now, did the dog have on the zap collar or was he "resting" ~ nothing but teenagers home BTW, and the white pickup folks wanted examined may have belonged to one of the teenager's friends.
More and more goodies.
This place can get a cop to check out someone selling meat from a pickup ~
Once more SLOOOWWWLLY -
The fence is invisible - many times required by communities over visible fences - BUT - the control collar is NOT - it is HIGHLY VISIBLE AND REGCOGNISIBLE...
A cop who panics at a golden, first, and second, doesn't take time to spot such a cumbersome collar - he's likely to panic in a REAL danger situation and shoot ANYone.
GOT IT YET? Can you see this this time?
And just as aside: I come from a 'cop' family and friends background. It's cops like this guy that give good cops a bad name.
"Your" quite the Mensche. In the best meaning.
My questionable dog (still a puppy) is always on the X-Y run (which gives her a complete back yard range).
Mace.
Mace.
This is not visible?
the control collar goes with the fence system.
Anyone whose job will put them in proximity with dogs should certainly have the training to recognize this. And if they so easily panic as a golden, still in it's yard and with a highly visible control collar - that man has no business with a gun - he's a danger to anyone in a REAL danger situation.
Dog hatred of postal workers is a recent genetic development over the past 100 years or so.
Yep. Provides a few seconds for those who don't keep their shotguns loaded to get their acts together.
Moka is a year and a half. Mutt, but she looks like a Goldie. Her littermates looked like various crosses of Sheppard, Goldie, and St. Bernie. Moka was 80lbs at her last vet visit and in perfect health.
If we let her, she'd put a napkin around her neck and sit up at the table with the rest of the family... ;-)
Don't plan to F w/ me.
The letter carriers need to be trained. They are retards these days.
In the recent past they were trained and self selected to be representative of the citizens they "served". Now they are statist 'bots.
Who knew?
True dat. LOL (sadly).
