Sounds like he is “ordering” them to be good reporters. Why would his instructions not be prudent regarding any controversial claims?

my oh my... Are you actually thinking journalists should earn their pay instead of actually spewing the talking points delivered to them? (of course) The world would be a better place and more truth would be told. (I dream too much)

Why do some people in this nation of ours want so desperately to believe such an inconvenient LIE!!! They voted Obama into office so we know they aren't concerned with facts, logic or truth.

Caught them red handed - trying to present both sides of a story.
In the case of global warming that's a good thing. We simply don't know yet, so anyone who proclaims that climate change definitely does / doesn't exist should be regarded with suspicion. In the year 3000 we'll know better.
But sometimes portraying both sides of the story equally is just misleading, be it autism as a result of vaccinations (bullsh*t), AIDS denialism or a lot of 3rd Reich and 9-11 topics:
"Holocaust - Fact or fiction?"
"Polish agression - why Germany had to defend itself"
"Pearl Harbor / WTC - an inside job?"

In other words, Media Matters has its skirts in a bunch, because FOX News wants to be accurate? Do I have that down correctly?

Media Matters for America said the internal e-mail from Bill Sammon, Fox News's Washington bureau chief, called into question the network's impartiality in reporting on climate change. So wait...an email telling reporters to cover both sides means they're *not* impartial? Someone's going to have to explain that one to me.

Fox News Channel's top Washington editor ordered the network's reporters to couple any mention of global climate change with skepticism about the data underlying such a scientific conclusion, according to an e-mail released by a liberal media-watchdog group Wednesday. Which is actually more THOROUGH reporting because it IS controversial, unlike the more leftist networks where "controversial" is a code word for conservative, and "conservatives" always get labels, while barking moonbat commies are either "consumer watchdogs" or not labeled at all, because why would you label the normal everyday person?
