There are a ton of gays already serving in the military and all of us have worked with gays in our own jobs, knowingly or not. Corporate America has not come tumbling down because of gays in it’s work force, and neither will the military. If the military can’t handle this, then they sure can’t be strong enough to fight a war.
Some of the posts here are so homophobic that it is embarassing.
The comparison is sometimes made that "it didn't hurt the European armed forces," to which, all I have to say is, SOMETHING definitely hurt the Euro-forces, because relative to the US military, THEY ARE NOT UP TO SPEED, by a long shot.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Go over to DU if you don't like it.
Actually the old rules regarding Homosexual behavior are still in place, the DADT rules simply kept anyone from asking anyone about it or actively investigating it. A gay person was still kicked out if he/she outed themselves or behaved in ways publically that left no doubt. Getting rid of DADT allows the old rules to come back in full force.
Another words, the homo libs outsmarted themselves. They will have to have laws passed that state that homosexuals are to be allowed into the military.... the UCMJ literally needs to be changed!
Yeah - that whole economic collapse thing can wait.
Wish they were fighting wikileaks this hard.
Thanks Alaska. :)
Knew we could count on you to let us down.
That's what we are here, flaming RBSH's. You could go somewhere less embarrassing if you're "offended".
Corporate America has not come tumbling down because of gays in its work force, and neither will the military.
No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood. America (corporate and all else) is a shell of its former self — it's like a house with every timber gnawed into cardboard by termites.
Go ahead and pretend that all is well, but don't slam any doors or jump on the floor.
Soldiers: (mincing in unison) Oooh get her! Whoops! I've got your number ducky. You couldn't afford me, dear. Two three. I'd scratch your eyes out. Don't come the brigadier bit with us, dear, we all know where you've been, you military fairy. Whoops, don't look now girls the major's just minced in with that dolly colour sergeant, two, 'three, ooh-ho!
DADT may get repealed, but the UCMJ(uniform code of military justice) still forbids homosexuality....I’m not sure what the Gays gain here. Recruiters again will be able to ask up front if a prospective recruit is gay and backgrounds can again be checked. The UCMJ code needs to be changed, which I would hope it doesn’t!
I suspect within a few years most of the JAGs will be gay, good luck then trying to root out gays.
Then leave the site and hang out and Democratic Underground. They are much more tolerant there.

Whenever something embarrasses me I get the hell out of Dodge.
So leave already.
“Corporate America” does not have to shower with someone of the same sex who finds them attractive.
Corporate America does not have to use the same latrines, without dividers, with members of the same sex that are attracted to them.
Corporate America goes home at the end of their work day.
Members of the military do not!
Well I called my 2 senate Dems for VA and
asked them to vote against DADT and Dream Act.

Routed to voice-mail and was easy to do.

Homophobic? I don’t think around here at FR is afraid of sodomites...
Wow.. This is not a surprise, unfortunately.
Many well-known moderates in the GoP have been for it for years.. now they get to vote for it officially.
A gent told me a while back that he would pull his son out of a CAP cadet program if something like this happened, but I don't know how serious he was. I could see a number of parents find this DADT repeal to be the last straw as far as Young Marines, CAP or Army Guard Explorer programs.
