Well, with all due respect right back, the military is not the place to make political protests. Lakin is learning that the hard way.

He was not denied the right of discovery. That right only applies to pertinent data, and the court correctly held that Obama didn’t need to show a birth certificate for the order to be legal. If Obama were found to be a space alien tonight, that wouldn’t cancel out all the harm he has done while acting as US President.
Nor does Lakin face the death penalty. While attached to a Navy squadron, we had a couple of deserters - they just left the base and went into hiding. They missed deployment to a combat zone (yes, we were getting shot at over Iraq long before GW2), were caught, did a bit of prison time and discharged.
But again, he attempted to go the "correct" rout by asking his superiors AND his elected rep's for assurances that his CinC was legitimate.
They couldn't do it.

Look, pal. I have no idea where Obama was born. That is no longer an issue. But I do know that he’s an America-hating, constitution-hating communist/Marxist traitor and wannabe dictator and he admits it in word and deed. He needs to be impeached, tried, convicted and run out of Dodge. And I couldn’t care less about Michele one way or the other.

Exactly. Apparently, Lakin justifies this as follows:

He said he would "gladly deploy" if Obama's original birth certificate were released and proved authentic.
Having "reasonable questions" is not sufficient to justify politicization of the offier corps by refusing an otherwise lawful order. If you're going to go to the mat, you have to be sure that you're right.
The truth on this issue is that we may never know the absolute truth. Only his mother really knows, and she's not talking at this point. Defying orders because the President "may" not have been born in the U.S. is not the right way to challenge the issue. Politicizing the officer corps is a dangerous road down which to travel.
A military coup would overthrow the Constitution not restore it.
George Soro’s coup d’etat is based upon the inability of anyone to legally challenge Obama’s eligibility in a court of law.
Like this one every other one has been shunted to the dustbin by denying the most basic legal rights in a court of law.
He should not have disobeyed a lawful order no matter what. Period.

I’d pick a different guy to boast about...he’d fit in well with most Democrats. Of course, he helped push FDR. And there is some question about the existence of that “Fascist coup d’etat in 1932”.
It certainly isn't the issue for me.
If Obama is a natural born citizen I **want** him in the White House! He would be eligible to be there and any attempt at impeachment would politically be very hurtful to the Republican Party and the conservative cause.
The issue is the CONSTITUTION and the RULE OF LAW ! Both the Constitution and the Rule of law are far far bigger an issue than either puny little Obama or Lakin.
Without the Constitution, honest courts, honest elections, honest police enforcement, honest military generals and admirals, honest politicians, we **will** eventually see death camps.
Yes, our nation has a certain resilience..but...the Constitution and the rule of law can only be kicked and prodded by the wicked only so much. Eventually, both will die. If the Constitution and rule of law is destroyed we will see death, **lots** of it.

Are you just convinced that the issue is going no where and that efforts should be channeled in a different direction?
If you are correct and Lakin is correct, then why in the world would you not advise all officers to simply refuse to obey Obama’s unlawful unconstitutional orders?

I haven’t changed my mind. I think he should release his actual birth certificate. But if I’m in the service and my ship sails, you can bet I’ll be on it.
Step One: Find a sympathetic prosecuting attorney who is not a fan of Barry Soetoro. That prosecutor can be a district attorney, a state Attorney General, a US Attorney or a Special Counsel of your choosing.
Step Two: Present that evidence to said prosecutor.
Step Three: Ask that said prosecutor launch a Grand Jury investigation into election fraud, perjury, false documents, forgery or any charge that your little heart desires.
The reality is that this Nation is corrupt beyond description.
The sad part is that those who stand up against it get chastised.
When Military officers refuse to engage American Citizens, will you chastise them too.
After all, an order is an order.

FWIW, it's a sad day in this Country when a decorated 18 year Military man is going to get sent away because our so called POTUS won't just simply prove his bona fides.
But as been discussed here previously, that would require some honor, something that the current occupant of the WH does not have.
