That's exactly what happened to me. Jose Rubio hit and "split" and I was upside down in the middle of the street...saved by a seatbelt...in Houston. He hit me on the passenger side.
My car was 4 months old and totaled. It knocked me into a new Mercedes...whose owner didn't file on my insurance because if not for me, Jose would have hit his wife on the driver's side and might have killed her.
I wasn't aware of the third car until he called to tell me they were going to take care of their own damage. There are still some nice people in the world.

On a lighter note regarding the movie, does anyone think Melinda Dillon (Ralphies mom) was miscast?Agree totally.

It breaks my heart to watch this movie, knowing the man who helped bring such fun and joy to us has been snatched away by the thoughtless act of a drunken looter.
Thanks, Jorge!

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of town has Wizard of Oz characters in its Christmas parade.A town that's set in an MGM picture in the early 40's. (The Wizard of Oz was released in 1939.) I thought it hilarious when Ralphie says, "Hey, Mickey!" and the Wizard's cast boot him out of the parade.

I thought she was great. What I thought was interesting is that that’s pretty much how kids see their parents: older and “frizzier” and..chaste?...than they really are.

I thought she was dull and didnt have chemistry with Darren McGavin.I agree with that. She did seem out of place in that movie and her hairstyle was more early 1970s than 1950. Too much Barbara Streisand and not enough Donna Reed.
