Too bad Martin Short (shyster attorney Nathan Firm) and Harry Shearer (Sixty Minutes interviewer Mike Wallace) aren't able to parody Rahm Emanuel's legal case on SNL.

It has been so many years that I had forgotten how to spell the character’s name. It would be great if Martin Short brought this comedy sketch character out of retirement.

sneaky little man. Hope he doesn’t get certified. We don’t need another democrat, let alone mr. deadfish running the show.

It would be hilarious if the “amended” tax returns contain no changes to actual dollar amounts and only reflect a change of address and a box checked “resident.”
The timing of this makes Emanuel look like a fool.

So lets see...
Rahm either lied on his taxes
or
Rahm is lying about his residence status.

Rahm's 2009 Illinois tax return indicated he was only a part-year resident that year, and had moved to Washington D.C. But after returning to Chicago to run for mayor and after several people challenged whether he was eligible to run, Rahm filed an amended return. The original returns statements regarding part-year residency were not accurate, Emanuel and his wife wrote in a return filed Nov. 24. The amended returns make clear that we were full-year residents of Illinois in 2009.
We are also full-year residents of Illinois in 2010.
But did he pay his Illinois property taxes?
The Illinois Review News reported then-Congressman Rahm Emanuel and his wife did not pay real estate taxes b/c according to the Cook County Assessors website multi-millionaire Rahm Emanuel's Chicago home didntt exist. There seemed to be no public record of Emanuel ever paying property taxes on this home.
The Cook County Assessors and Cook County Treasurers online records indicated Emanuels neighbors pay between $3,500-$7,000 annually. The Illinois Review News organ's investigative reporters was unable to locate any evidence that Emanuel--- a multi-millionaire---was paying taxes.
