It is pushing 90 in Missouri about a month early. Winter is long gone and I am charging my boat battery down at my boat dock.
To heck with worry about socialists for tonight.
I’m so disgusted with the crap, sometimes I just tune out. I’ve tuned out today, and babysat 3 grandkids. (2 1/2, 1 1/2 and 6 months) It was loads of fun and tons of work!
It’s nice to pretend all is well.
We hit 55 today! I broke out my bikini, not! I’m 52, and have no business wearing a bikini! LOL!
Where are you at in MO? A guy from our area landed a talk show in Springfield, Nick Reed, KSGF. I podcast him, and am learning lots about MO and your politics. It’s really fun.
The Lake of the Ozarks is a giant old hydroelectric lake that has thousands of homes on the water. Some cruddy, some outrageously expensive, but most fairly decent old lake houses built by people from KC, St Louis or elsewhere in driving distance.
We plan to keep this place and use it in retirement in two to three years if we can stay employed that long in high pressure industries of construction and healthcare.
Check out my page, my daughter did her basic and AIT there, fort lost in the woods, NBC, no body cares. (nuclear, biological, chemical weapons) You should check out talker Nick Reed out of Springfield, good conservative talker there. My in-laws did the Branson thing until Mom in law died.
I was in Kansas City back in the late 90’s on business. Fabulous food! I spent a week there. It was wonderful. We did the trolly tour, and spent a lot of time at the museum for that sunk boat, Arabia, dug up in a corn field. That was awesome!
We went to your zoo. It was all good.
My daughter’s first post was Ft. Riley. They have really great museums on post.
Built about a dozen buildings on Custer Hill at Riley. Missouri is nice and inexpensive compared to a lot of other areas in the country.
I will check out your friend’s show.
One of the coolist things I learned was the whole Kansas/Missouri struggle, and how that all played out.
eWisconsin USED to be cheap. Our new Gov is getting heat from the unions. Hopefully, we’ll get there, the libs are throwing it all to the lib court. I’m so sick of this crap. I hope and pray God didn’t give up on us. I talk to Him every night.
We’ll see. I wouldn’t be suprized otherwise.
My great great grandfather was associated with John Brown and I lived in a house in Lawrence during college that still had a mini ball in the porch beam so I kept up on that Border War history.
I think I better go look at my battery charger — falling in the Lake after midnight isn’t too good for going to work in the morning.
Did you help bury the horse? The cannons on the hill are a fun trek.
I haven’t hiked up to those long guns on that hill overlooking Marshall Field since I was a kid.
The Custer Hill area is the large curving bluff where all the Unaccompanied Enlisted Personell Barracks are as well as much of the large vehicle maintenance facilities and the start of the Tank Trail. Its uphill from all the old facilities that date back to the calvary era. If you drove on a long one way, two lane curving road (Appinines) you were on Custer Hill.
While I didn’t bury a horse there, I did go through two tornadoes, one in ‘73 on the bluff above Funston in a tents and one in ‘05 about a mile from my jobsite — I hope they count.
Ft. Riley is a fabulous post. We have photos of us sitting on the barrel of one of those cannons. So much fun and memories! One day, my soldier daughter and I spent the entire day just visiting all the museums and historic sites. I loved the trenches and the buffalo soldiers exhibits. Hence, I know of the burried horse, and his statue!! LOL!
We climbed up to the remains of the chimney of the famous soldier, sorry, I can’t recall his name, Audy Murphy? I’m probably wrong on that.
Now my kids are leaving Ft. Campbell (hell hole) and moving to Ft. Lewis this week.
I never got to tour Ft. Campbell like I did Ft. Riley, I’m sure there’s tons of history there, but it isn’t a military friendly place since Obama. They’re totally PC, and wrecking the post. My kids hated being posted there.
I can tell you a hellish story about their upcoming move. Everything was botched, so far, they’ve put $1300 of their pay into their ‘government move’. It’s been royally screwed up since the orders were issued.
Any my son-in-law just finished his 5th tour.
Thanks gov for appreciating our guys. We
re not fretting, Obama has Osama for a campaign partner.
Our military HATES this resident.
