This would be a good position for her if she even wants a political position anymore. She has done well without being in an actual party up to this point. I don’t think she is ready for President anyway and this would good for both her and the party. It gives her the chance to help reshape the party to what it’s supposed to be and it gives the tea party movement more strength as she will be able to help those supporting people onto more ballots.

LOL. Thanks, but I forgot to add that Sarah Palin already has her own plans. She is running and has been running since July 2009, so all this media crap is nonsense beyond on the pale.

These media outlets and not-so-grand poo-bah's should STHU and start a search for someone available if that's their true concern, which of course, it isn't.

Perhaps she could reform the RNC into an organization that doesn't back RINOs? Just a thought.

Actually I'm waiting for her cult followers to suggest she's too good for the Presidency too.

That is where I’ve always seen her being of greatest value to the country. RNC. She’d have my absolutely certain vote for the post.

Hey - finally some sense! I have ZERO desire for Sarah to run for or become POTUS. She is best suited as an attack dog and energizer, which is what the RNC head is suppose to be.

Agreed!

I doubt the Chairman has much control over that

If she doesn’t run in 2012, that position would be ideal for her.

But she would make an even better president.

Once Sarah Palin announces she is running for president, the rules change. She wouldn’t be free to do her other things, such as FOX commentator or her TV show. Even though she hasn’t announced, she can still campaign(which she is doing) and with much more freedom. The longer she waits to announce, the better.

I think it would be a good fit for her. She could bring a lot of new blood into the Republican Party. More conservative precinct delegate who elect more conservative National Committee Men/Women, who would change the party on a state and national level.

Of course Sarah might have to choose politics over celebrity, so who knows.

She certainly wouldn’t be able to hide behind Facebook and Twitter any longer. She would have to be available to the press for Sunday morning shows and spontaneous interviews with scary people like Katie Couric.

Virginia Ridgerunner, I agree with you. As much as I would love to see her as President, and have honest, straight forward decisions and actions, she and her family would be attacked unmercifully. Think: George Bush's attacks on steroids. She is extremely effective doing what she's doing, can stay in her beloved Alaska, and, while her family is criticized, it would be nothing like what they would receive if she were President. The “leave the children/family alone” would be thrown by the wayside so fast, it would make our heads spin.

I want her to have a significant roll in a Republican cabinet, or maybe the RNC chairman, but not president.

Why not Romney?

Why not? Sounds like a good position for Romney. He has organizational skills, plenty of contacts, etc. It would do exactly what the Palin opponents here are trying to do, remove him from presidential contention.

This is meant to create another Palin resignation. She would not be able to run for Pres and hold that position. She would have to resign and she could not overcome another resignation. The proposal to make her head of the RNC is a proposal to end her career.

Agreed. She has an uncanny, remarkable, gifted instinct for getting Conservatives elected.

... she would subordinate herself to the very GOP beltway poo-bahs who are trying to stop her.

If you believe that, you must not have read her book.

From what I've read and heard about Palin, she'd kick RINO ass in getting them fired, and replaced with patriotic, Constitutional Conservatives.

E. SARAH PALIN IGNITES CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS ON HER VERY OWN

Yep, it would be hard to "go rogue" within the confines of the RNC chairman job. Sarah Palin's strength is that she operates on a totally different political plain than the professional politicians do. POTUS is the perfect place for her style. That town needs turned upside down and inside out which is the reason the political elite seeks to undermine hers and our efforts.

the only true reason for the most part that some want her to be RNC head is to get keep her from running for President

Maybe some people see it as a way for her to do what she knows best and to grow in stature along the way.

She could have spent the last two years raising her image on the national and world stage.

Unfortunately, she has chosen for a political/celebrity status somewhere in between Glenn Beck and Kate Gosselin.
