Before Tom Landry died, there was a celebration held in honor of the good that Tom Henderson was doing for kids and his anti-drug charities, and in honor of him being “clean” for so long. Tom Landry showed up, and the rumors of them as having made peace with each other was publicly confirmed.

I wonder if Tom challenged him to another foot race?

“Speaking of Walt Garrison, Don said in an interview, ‘if it’s third down and I need 3 yards, I give it to Walt...he’ll get you five. If it’s third down and I need 20 yards, I give it to Walt ... he’ll get you five.”

Walt Garrison is quite the character himself.
I hear him doing radio interviews every year around rodeo time - as he did spend some time in the sport himself.

Gosh, the Cowboys had so, so many memorible people with remarkable stories.

My favorite has always been Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones. (#72).
I have a autographed photo that I show off to those that ask. (Can you tell I’m braging?)
He is one of those players that had all the time in the world for any fan that would say “Hi”.

He kept in shape by practicing ballet in the off season, but no one had the guts to make fun of him.

He also boxed for a while, and won all his matches. All but one were minor boxers, though. The one that wasn’t was a future heavyweight champion of Mexico. And Too Tall knocked him out in the first round.
He never could get the matches, but he liked boxing so he did it for a while.

He had over 100 quarterback sacks.

Fond memories of that first year of MNF.

I missed a lot of Tuesday morning 8 am classes that season.

“but nobody deserves to be assassinated like that.”

Mossad would disagree.

My favorite Dandy Donism was during a Cardinals vs. Cowboys game. The Cardinals had a bitter rivalry with the Cowboys and in one game the Cowboys were just getting thrashed by the Cards. Near the end of the game the Cardinals scored another TD and Don calmly announced “That’s a break for Cowboys. Now they will get the ball back.”
