It was a great show. I really cracked up when whey showed the bumper sticker on her fathers truck that read Vegetarian old Indian name for poor hunter.
Without notes.. from memory. The Won would've melted down into a hemorrhage of "Uhs," "Ahs," and "You-You-Yous"

I kept hollering at the screen for her to take the other guys rifle....
media will use her missing against her in the future and never tell it’s was her dad’s gun and that optics had gotten off track...maybe being transported...it happens

More than likely, they hit it on something while loading the plane.
IIRC, Dad took a tumble down a steep slope prior to them spotting her caribou. It is very possible that caused the scope misalignment.
That they left the entire sequence in says something about Sarah. It could have been easily portrayed as ‘one shot, one kill” but that’s not what really happened. Sarah puts it all out there and then deals with it...I like that a lot!

Good point. Real hunters know what it is like to miss...we have all been there. Instead of making her some kind of legendary Daniel Boone, hunting is just another activity, just like it is for me. That her kid wouldn’t want to wack a fish on the head just shows me she is a typical teen aged girl. I liked that they left that in too.
I am glad she finally made the shot, and glad the bad scope didn't just cause a horrible wound incident.
But I came away thinking Caribou are not very bright. I don't think a hunter usually gets 6-7 chances to make the shot ;~)
I think Gosselin was part of the original deal with TLC.
Sarah really wanted to do the show and highlight Alaska, herself and her family and lifestyle.
TLC really wanted to promote Gosselin’s reality show on the same channel.
Sarah went along. No problem.

I have a bleeding-heart liberal sister in Anchorage who absolutely loathes SP...I’ve never quite gotten a handle on why she hates her so much but one of the reasons she says is because SP is “vindictive” - well, she sure wouldn’t fit in in Washington, would she? Funny thing is when SP was governor before the VP pick I asked my sister how Alaskans liked their Republican governor and she said she was OK because she was kicking ass on corruption on the left and right. Liberalism really is a mental disorder.
I remember back in the heated ANWR debate somebody at Department of Interior posted a video of ANWR showing it to be a frozen wasteland. IIRC, it got pulled down rather quickly.
