Back in the old days I found beating the living snot out of hippies and their communist friends helped relieve the stress... Not a good idea in these P.C. times!
I read a piece a few years back in which the author argued that the reason we see more PTSD cases (all professions, not just military) is that society has given “permission” for such behavior. Thus, if a person is pre-disposed to mental problems he/she is much more likely to act them out.
I don’t know if that’s correct, but it was an interesting take on the thing.

I had quite a few Corps buddies that had the same method for survival AND sanity- along with a good stiff drink.
Of course in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s it was the ‘manly’ way to solve inner problems and getting a vet into ‘help’ was a chore, but it was the times and more so the way we were brought up.
Having many WWII and Korea Vets thinking Nam was not a war etc, did nothing for the minds of those that did what they had been called to do.
Of course, a lot of WWII types thought that Korea was a joke also.
This being a result of a Government that did not allow the Military to finish its job, which was the main reason for the WWII types and their feelings toward those that went in after them, but they were venting their anger in the wrong direction.
No, not such a good idea...unless they start it of course! Patriot Outreach is saving lives and will help anyone really, have a happy and free life.
bump for our troops...
Yes, what Truman and Johnson did, not allowing the military men to do is criminal! Macarthur was stopped from winning the war for all of Korea and now we have had untold millions of dead n. Koreans....starved and murdered because that one president would not finish the job.
That is an interesting theory. Definitely something to think about!!
Bump for our troopers and all in need of peace and happiness!
