She should have taken him to a store at least 20 miles away and then just left him there.

Now he can live under a bridge, just like he always wished for in his heart of hearts....

Sounds like someone has only 5 braincells left, 4 more than the “husband” if they were married.

Reminds me of Trailer Park Boys.
I wonder whatever happened to that show.

Well! Just last year I came across this town and was charmed by its name, in my perpetual fantasy of moving to a remote Appalachian “holler” (sans meth labs). (I know it's not one, but I'm also interested in little places near the birth home of Sergeant York, I'd like to live near there also). I obviously didn't research enough, because I had an image of a pastoral place, beyond the back of anywhere, where nothing ever happens (which is what I'm interested in).

Isn't Soddy Daisy just a hollow or two South of Dogfart? I believe it is in the same line of country as Sod All, Oulde Sod, and So Teddibly Soddy.
Suggest we get Barney "The Bugger of Bayonne" Frank on this sodding nonsense immediately. Wait, he didn't actually win that election, did he?

His mother says her son had been drinking all day Sunday, and asked her to take him to the store for more beer. She wouldn't,...
What an uncaring wench!

My nephews went to high school in Soddy Daisy, they all lived in Hixson, a couple still do.

The closest I’ve ever been is Crossville, so not very close. Loved Crossville too, but it’s still too “big city” , LOL, for what I want. I’ve forgotten the name of Sergeant York’s hometown already, all I can remember is that it’s near “Jimtown” (Jamestown)! Probably what I want went the way of the Original Carter Family :(

The name may sound like an Appalachian "holler"....but Soddy-Daisy happens to be a suburb of a big town, Chattanooga.
My high school football team use to play theirs....

LOL - when the title said "Soddy Man" I thought they were referring to his inebriation. Now please excuse me while I have another pint of Guinness!

Yeah, I figured that if it’s named on a map, it’s not what I’m looking for. If it’s not named, I don’t have a clue how to go about finding it!

Thanks:) Now that you’ve reminded me, I remember reading that it’s not pronounced the same as the “Pall Mall” in England.

Please forgive my intemperate haste in posting.
I did not mean to make light of this shocking case of child abuse. Does this careless and unfit mother not realize the plethora of B Vitamins and good all-around nutrition available in beer?
As nursing mothers have realized throughout the ages,
