I see no distinction between the word “native” and the term “natural born.” It was well understood at the time of the adoption of the constitution that “natural born” had to do with place of birth, not blood line or lineage. That term came from the English common law, which held that those who were immigrants but whose children were born in the realm were considered natural born subjects of the Crown. There is nothing to support the “original intent” of the Founders was anything other than the understood meaning of the term “natural born” at the time they wrote it as defined under English common law.

Thanks for the explanation. This certainly makes more sense than anything else I've read on FR.

Oh, they won’t be official Romney threads, but Romney will become the subject, and you will defend him, but as you will point out, you aren’t really defending him, you will only be correcting something, or commenting on something in a way that is favorable to him, but you will protest that the posts are in no way, pro-Romney.

I will see you also dissing Palin or her freerepublic supporters, or freerepublic itself in some way related to Palin or Mitt Romney, but of course you will indignantly protest that it is none of that at all.

Yes, if someone ever says something false about you, I will correct it, in order that the facts be known. I certainly won’t do it to “defend” you. If you were to post something else stupid, like “Mitt Romney was Governor of Utah”, I would correct your error, and that would not be “defending Romney”. It’s not that I “say” I’m not defending, it’s the FACT that I’m not.

And if somebody posts any other stupid drivel in the hopes it will smear Romney, or any other candidate, I will correct the stupid drivel, because stupid drivel has no place on a forum that people use to find facts.

I don’t really care that you seem clueless on so many things, or that you seem not to understand the simplest ideas. I could spend all my waking hours and never correct every stupid, rediculous thing you say about me.

I do however feel compelled to point out when you deliberately lie. The funny thing is, I suppose you could actually be delusional enough to actually believe the lies you tell. But I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are doing it on purpose.

ON the other hand, you did manage to post an entire comment without actually lying. And in fact, in your own pathetic way, you may have posted what for you passes as within the realm of possibility, mostly because you have turned to predicting the future, and it is in fact likely that at some point people WILL post stupid, false stories and insist they are the “facts”, and I WILL point out things that are factually incorrect.

On the other hand, Romney mostly becomes the subject on threads these days because obsessed people like you keep bringing him up again and again and again. I would prefer never to see the name Romney on FreeRepublic — if the place is going to ban discussion of Romney, we aught to ban all discussion of Romney, and be done with it, rather than have the anti-Romney trolls spamming everybody’s threads like this.

This thread was about Bobby Jindal, and you drug your Romney obsession in and ruined the thread. You regularly drag your fixation with Romney into threads.

LOL, you jumped on this thread to attack Palin support in support of Mitt Romney.

"And if somebody posts any other stupid drivel in the hopes it will smear Romney, or any other candidate,I will correct the stupid drivel,"

Yep, for years you have been one of the most dedicated and loyal defenders of the Mitt run for President, that is kind of my point.

Your proximate point was to lie that I was in this thread attacking palin supporters, and that I am anti-Palin, a lie you put forth with no evidence whatsoever.

In fact, in this thread I was defending the person who posted the thread against a false claim that they were anti-Palin. And I’m not against Sarah Palin, and in fact have posted numerous threads and comments defending her from attacks both from her opposition AND from her supposedly loyal supporters who say false bad things about her trying to “justify” her when she disagrees with them.

You have no evidence that I am against Sarah Palin. You have no evidence that I am in any way supporting Mitt Romney (whom I haven’t supported since he quit the 2008 presidential primary).

You have this bizarre belief that people are somehow attached to every candidate they ever voted for. Now, maybe you have some weird personal attachment to political candidates you decide to vote for, but most of us simply look through the field of candidates for an election, pick the one we think is least likely to screw up our country, and vote for them.

Meanwhile, you jump from thread to thread screaming”Romney Romney Romney” as if you are haunted by some spectre that you can’t get out of your head. I haven’t said one thing ABOUT Romney in this entire thread, and the only mention of Romney in this thread is yours, and my responses to yours.

Here’s the funny thing amidst the general sadness which is your posting: You couldn’t do a better job of spamming threads for Romney if you bought advertising for him. Crazy guy hates Romney, and can’t stop mentioning Romney, and keeps pointing out all the sane people around him who “supported Romney”. And somehow you think this will make people hate Romney, and support YOUR candidate.

BTW, you’ve never even explained why you think that WHAT I posted in this thread was an attack.

Do you think that Palin Supporters are NOT posting negative things about other candidates, possible candidates, and former candidates? Worse, do YOU think that they are bad to do that, and therefore think it is NEGATIVE to point out that they are doing it? I’ve never seen you ask them not to do it, so I don’t see any evidence that you think it is a bad thing.

It would be like you saying I was attacking Palin if I quoted something she said that you disagreed with.

"Well anyone can check his bio and see that he was born here of (legal) immigrant parents."

Exactly. His parents were foreign nationals (NOT US citizens) when he was born here. Bobby Jindal is NOT a Natural Born Citizen.

LOL, it must drive you nuts to see the anti-Romney video pasties atop every thread, that we often see here("advertising" in your mind), especially when followed by posts about freerepublic being "Palin country".

As has been said many times, if you wrestle with a pig, both of you get filthy, the difference being that the pig likes it.

Charles, I suggest you stand up and climb out of the sty.

Romney gets free advertising on every thread. I have noticed some poeple are annoyed by them, but they do go away when we have freeperthons.

I still don’t understand why you think I’d dislike “Palin Country”, since I’ve been a Palin supporter since she was chosen as our VP nominee in 2008. Even wrote a real opinion column about it. But I forget that you don’t have a grasp of “facts”.

Romney gets free advertising on every thread.

That is a very positive spin to put on what we conservatives are doing in regards to Mitt Romney.

Being disliked by an atheist and a dedicated anti-social conservative for my conservatism, isn’t a bad thing to me.

His parents were permanent residents.

They are the words you wrote. In that thread, you had been busy defending Jindal’s support for a 3x pay raise for legislators that was at the time being debated.
