CAIR is telling muslims to ask TSA to pat themselves down!!!!!!!

“If the officer confirms you were referred to secondary because of your head scarf, before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer, who should be of the same gender, that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck.

You can always request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area, and have the officer perform a residue swab of your hands.”

So all a terrorist group has to do is to get one of them hired as a flight attendant?

Didn’t they indicate they wouldn’t be searching Muslim ladies in burkas?

No.

Right. I am not sheep but I fly so I will go through whatever security they have. You do what you have to do. But the point being that all should be treated the same in that whavever triggers a patdown for joe blow should also trigger one for a flight attendant. As far as pilots go I am more concerned about identity fraud than giving them some sort of pat down. They don’t need a bomb - they can fly the plane into the ground if they want

well, they can make you prove you’re a citizen unless you’re suspected of NOT being a citizen, then they can’t.

Do you know how real profiling works? More specifically, do you know how the Israeli model of profiling works? (Since this is the model that I advocate.) FYI: It doesn’t work like a lot of people here seem to think that it does.

I wonder what kind of id check is performed. Does all one need to do is don a pilot's or flight attendant's uniform and cobble up an id? Sounds like a vector has just been opened if biometrics aren't involved.

And that is the real problem ... it isn't that duh, the pilot can crash the plane, it is how does TSA at the entrance to the secure area know that what looks like a pilot is actually a pilot?

Anyone know what the ACLU has to say about all of this? I know when Bush was in office, anything and everything he proposed was immediately deemed illegal and a violation of peoples rights.

Opposition to strip-searching 10 year olds is a vast conspiracy.

... after that it will be law enforcement
then the elderly
and then members of Congress and cabinet members
then members of state legislatures
then anyone with a union card
then minorities
etc. etc.

Meanwhile white male internet bloggers will receive a public colonoscopy with every screening in order to keep health costs down.

Eqypt air 990 1999...NY to Cairo

copilot yells Allah Akbar and plunges the plane, crew and passengers into the Atlantic Ocean off of Nantucket.

no thank you, but the crew gets no free pass, especially if they are muzzies.

This is the rebirth of American justice - presumed guilty until proven innocent, unless you are a member of a trusted elitist group....politicians, rich enough to own your own Grumman or Learjet (that can be missiles too), influential enough to fly on military aircraft, or be included in some other special politically designated group.

But for ALL of us regular average American schmucks - working or retired taxpayers, disabled or non-disabled vets, or any other average member of the public, you are considered untrusted, guilty and subject to whatever it takes to prove you aren’t guilty.

There has been a progressive loss of liberty since 9-11 and ever since the first Patriot Act was signed. We lose and someone wins. The more you examine the money trail the more you see big winners such as Chertoff and others in the mil-security complex who are profiting enormously all at our expense. I’m becoming increasingly convinced that just maybe this terrorism thing isn’t so much about hate, but instead about groups that understand that by collaborating and instilling fear in the minds of Americans, it will encourage us to be docile little puppets with our wallets open and willing to accept any intrusion that they wish to bring into our lives.

So please convince me that my cynicism about this is all wrong and it can’t be.

I wonder if Major Hassan, the Fort Hood shooter, would have been classed as part of a “known and trusted group” in the TSA’s procedures.

I don’t think anything will change unless/until we can get the airlines to push back against TSA/Congress.

If customer decisions effect their bottom line, they will take notice and respond accordingly. (or I could be wrong and they will just lobby for another bailout to make up the difference)

Seems when business and goobermint are in cahoots, we lose either way.
