After decades of telling people that they cannot 'catch' STDs from toilet seats, door knobs, etc, we still have adults who think that STDs can be transmitted by pat downs?
C'mon, the grope sessions are bad enough without making us sound stupidly ignorant while objecting.
I did not say plain pat downs. If you listened to Rush today, some of the TSA agents are not just doing pat downs on the outside of the underclothing.
So what STDs get transmitted that way? Hmmm?
Haven’t checked in for a few days and then I read your post. That is a shocking shade of 1935 Germany.
Bingo.

LOL! “I don’t believe in the no win scenario.”
Herpes is a very common infection. It is caused by two different but closely related viruses. The viruses are herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). Both are easy to catch. They remain in the body for life and can produce symptoms that come and go.
Both forms of herpes can infect the oral area, the genital area, or both. When the infection is on or near the mouth, it is called oral herpes. Oral herpes is caused most often by HSV-1. When a herpes infection is on or near the sex organs, it is called genital herpes. Genital herpes is caused most often by HSV-2. Up to 8 out of 10 American adults have oral herpes. And about 1 out of 4 American adults have genital herpes. Millions of people do not know they have herpes because they never had, or noticed, the herpes symptoms.
Herpes is spread by touching, kissing, and sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex. It can be passed from one partner to another and from one part of the body to another. Brief skin-to-skin contact is all that's needed to pass the virus. Because herpes may have no symptoms for years, sometimes it is very difficult to know who passed it to whom.

I figure if anyone has a vested interest in emphasizing the dangers of "unprotected" sex it's these guys.
The most the ACLU will do over this is say they got X number of complaints. Their will be no lawsuit and they will have find some reason to ignore all of the passengers reports over some technicality.

...or join a union! All the TSA are belong to us (unions that is).
They need to put the TSA on the southern BORDER!
“Ive never been in an airport where passengers on their way out were subject to search. This story seems a bit odd in that respect.”
It is odd if he was just trying to get to baggage claim.
When you are on an international flight and go from one terminal to another as a connecting passenger, eg at Chicago OHare or Newark, you have to go through security again. In other countries, they separate connecting passengers and arrivals.
The TSA is way out of control.
As you stated, “Skin to skin contact” is all that is needed.
That would mean Passenger A infecting TSA agent by skin to skin contact, then TSA agent passing it on to Passenger B by skin to skin contact.
Do you have any evidence that his happens?
I suspect that this form of transmission would be even rarer than female to male HIV transmission.
Well, considering that the process of drying actually kills a *lot* of bacteria/viruses it’s highly likely it would have to happen before the sweat evaporates.
That said, I have no wish to “try my luck” on that.
PS - You only asked if there was an STD which could be spread by skin-to-skin contact; I have provided one case for you — the answer is YES.
He didn't specify skin-to-skin. He was referring to the pat down which should never be skin-to-skin. Most likely that would be skin-to-cloth-to-latex-to-cloth-to-skin.
No, that isn’t what I asked. Go back and read the thread yourself.
The TSA gropefest is bad enough on its own without inventing implausible, silly ass scenarios that do nothing but distract from the real issue of Freedom.
If we make the issue hygiene and sanitation, then what do we do when they make adjustments that answer those concerns?
More kids will get lice from school mates than air passengers will get from each other during pat downs.
The issue must stay focused on Freedom.

Agreed. I do get distracted sometimes...
Until Americans rise up against this tyranny we will have more and more false arrests and false imprisonments like this:
