Well, there’s an agency that could use some defunding.
I might have been inclined to provide more than moral support, but unfortunately the NRA endorsed Boswell and Culver in Iowa. I understand their process, but as a life member, think they missed the forest for the trees.
Go NRA and good luck. My dollars are staying in my pocket for now but you have my moral support. Hope that is enough.
Eliminating it was a goal of Ronald Reagan’s. The ESTABLISHMENT GOP blocked him
We have the CIA and the FBI.
We don’t need any damn ATF and we sure as hell don’t need any “Department of Homely Security”!!!
I am right there with you. The NRA’s support of Boswell put me over the edge after they endorsed Culver. They won’t ever get a dime from me again. Sadly.
I don’t care what the NRA thinks anymore.
With their support of all the ‘Rats, including the King Rat of the Senate, I’m sure the NRA is certain to have this locked up the way they want. Why make a big deal of it?
Oldplayer
To which we should add Harry Reid.
I suspect that the NRA bigwigs realize that if the gun grabbers are totally defeated it is the end of much of their funding.
Maybe the NRA should have worked harder to elect a GOP Senate majority?

I have one word for the ATF.
WACO!
Did Harry Reid approve their statement or are they going rogue?
I have the impression that you think Harry Reid was endorsed by the NRA. He wasn't.
The BATFE needs to be DE-FUNDED. Plain and simple. Read this:

This could prove to be most important.
The House of Representatives “holds the purse strings” of this nation.
If they refuse to fund something, it withers and dies.
The members of the new House, our representatives, need to be told that we expect them to de-fund certain programs and agencies; they are, after all, our representatives.
No. I want them to protect the Second Amendment. Why do you think that there's been no significant gun grabbing since the rats took control of Congress in January 2007, or why Reid and Pelosi told Holder and Obama to pound sand when they started talking about renewing an improved version of the so called assault weapons ban?
You can do what other folks have done - quit the NRA (demand a refund, telling them why you’re quitting) and join GOA.
The NRA sucks; they need to understand this. When enough people vote with their feet, maybe they’ll “get it”.
The National Rifle Association of America strongly opposes President Obama's nomination of Andrew Traver as director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). Traver has been deeply aligned with gun control advocates and anti-gun activities. This makes him the wrong choice to lead an enforcement agency that has almost exclusive oversight and control over the firearms industry, its retailers and consumers. Further, an important nomination such as BATFE director should not be made as a "recess appointment," in order to circumvent consent by the American people through their duly-elected U.S. Senators.Harry Reid, for example. Thanks neverdem.
The NRA endorsed Dem. Rep. Oberstar in Minnesota, a bleeding heart true blue socialist.
To make things worse, when I called and complained, they didn’t even give a rip that they were endorsing left wing socialists.
“Balance” you know, they kept saying.

Please read comment# 16. Also, remember when GWB said he would sign a so called "assault weapons ban," if Congress sent him the legislation.
