As others have noted below, the study is based on the idea that an impossible event (GM and Chrysler simply closing their doors and firing everyone) was certain to happen.
Before you go whining to anybody that you gave us facts, precious, precious FACTS and we rejected you, try looking up chapter 11 reorganization. Strange how companies like United Airlines went through it and are still around, still taking customer’s money in return for value, still emnploying American workers at good wages.
