I’m a Rich Republican.
It’s pocket change as far as I’m concerned.
You might be able to cut back on Internet speed and save 20 bucks a month. If all your doing is hitting FR, the basic Internet tier should work. If you need to upload files or access your home computer from work you should stick with the faster Internet.
If they are gouging you on a DVR for HD and you don't record, insist on a stand alone HD decoder box. If you do record, you might consider a Tivo box but you can't record on demand stuff.
Do you really need all those channels? I have the comcast digital starter package with HD. It has the big 10 network in HD and the golf channel, so I am happy. For $20+ bucks a month I can live without the upper TV tier. Fox business channel would be nice, but oh well...
Talked to DirectTV and they are partnered in this area with ATT. They gave me a price of 75.00 for whole-home DVR HD service with one DVR. One year. Then TV goes up to 63.00 for the second year. Said would run 15 TV’s. Actually that is 45.00 200 channels and 24.00 for Internet w/o phone. Checking with condo about dish.
from who?
” he wants to watch sports like NFL games, he just connects his pc to his big screen TV, connects to the web and presto.”
That’s something I’d like to do. If you can get this info from your neighbor on how to set this up, I’ll buy you a doughnut and cup of coffee.
see my post 32 on how to set it up. I actually witnessed his old Dell 2006 laptop connected to his hi-def 40 inch TV and watching free stuff.
