So does that mean their version of the Declaration of Independence includes the right to liberty and the perfuit of buggery, but not life?

No. You ignore the social issues at your peril. I will say however that until you own all three branches, it’s a smart policy. Once you have the entire government, hit ‘em hard.

Some social issues are not federal issues and should be kept out of sight.

TEA Taxed, Enough, Already,, The number one problem facing this nation, bar none, is the cancerous explosion in the size and pervasiveness of government.

Those immoral behaviors will not directly affect me to any noticeable degree because i will not engage in them. I will try to win those people over to my way of thinking.

But taxes and national health care affect me DIRECTLY and SEVERELY.
Focus, on the task, enslave the government beast, then we can work to make changes in those other areas. Without economic freedom, all is lost.

LOL. So now, GOProud speaks for the Tea Party? These people are the actual “teabaggers.”

I would agree with this approach if one thing is left on the “social agenda”: giving more power to local and state governments by diminishing federal authority across the board.

The federal government should have as little authority as possible when it comes to social issues. If GOProud and these tea party folks don’t get that then we’ve got a serious bone to pick with them.

Well, crap. >:-(

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am to see some of the groups and names on this list. :*(

As for me and mine, we choose the FOUNDING FATHERS on *ALL* social issues today that are un-holy (abortion, same sex marriage) and un-Biblical, and that’s that. Forget all this RINO stuff about ‘most Tea Party members just want small government and less taxes’—that’s just a FRACTION of what WE THE PEOPLE out here in flyover country are fighting for! >:-(

I don’t agree with WHY these people are saying this, but from a strategy standpoint, I think the new Congress needs to accomplish its first priority first.

Tackle issues like gay marriage and all that AFTER tackling what got them in power, i.e. the economy.

Obummer made the same mistake. He was elected on the promise of fixing the economy and that is EXACTLY what he did not do and look where we are now. Get the first priority finished, curb the spending, give the budget a good run-through while giving the taxpayers hope that we won’t be stuck paying for everything through our great great great granchildren’s lifetimes and THEN fight the social issues.

Just saying. It’s important, but they need to concentrate on what got them there FIRST.

Gay RINOs advise the GOP to avoid social issues. So says a socially liberal organization that finds common cause only in a social issue.

The social breakdown led to the big government. Social issues should be at the very heart of the TEA party. Instead of going after the symptoms, why not go after the cause?
Out of wedlock births have led to billions in government spending and growth each year. AIDs has cost the American citizen a fortune. Abortion has led to unfettered, unprotected sex, which has lead to tax payer paid abortions, school condoms and indoctrination class, and massive over use of antibiotics, for example.
Name one left wing lifestyle that hasn't cost the American taxpayer a penny!

Really? Why does this worthy mention?

Also, David Thor Andreasen is a lifelong DEMOCRAT.

It is not surprising that the homosexual agenda advocates cry out for this garbage. What is surprising is any other supposed conservatives that agree with it.

In my opinion underlying the sentiment premising the plea of "partial conservatism only please" that some seem to ascribe to is plain and simple -an effort to remove religious premised debate from public discourse.

The questions I have: who is afraid and why are they afraid? I think it is in these issues that conservatives separate the wheat from the chaff -the conservatives from the RINOS!

Who does not understand that religious belief in a higher authority is the very foundation our Republic sits upon?

Conservatives if truly supporting freedom and the American way should be outraged at the idea advanced that suggests "religion" termed morality here should just shut up and sit down at the back of the bus for the good of the Republic...

It always comes back to the same thing. These homosexual front groups like “GOProud” value their bedroom sexual practices above everything else. That’s why they always end up going against fellow Republicans in order to defend their lifestyle.

Christopher Barron (GOProud Chairman): “We are a gay organization, we only work on gay issues, we have never claimed otherwise. My God people.”

If your dead, nothing else matters. LIFE IS THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY ALL THE TIME.

Unless you live in Chicagado, where I hear the dead still vote.

I am looking at Google News on the GOProud subject and find few articles on the subject and most of them in Gay oriented sites.

GOProud news

GOProud is engaging in self promotion and reeled in some dummies to support them.

How many members does GOProud have? I bet damn few. This organization is a Cat's Paw. It is a tool for the benefit of Democrats like the Log Cabin Republicans were.

I think certain groups have pulled their fingers out of wherever they where and now have them squarely in the wind; and are trying to get on the bandwagon through the backdoor, a route to which they are used to taking one imagines.

They don't want to make it about "social issues"?

Fine. Since marriage still remains between a man and wife just about everywhere that means they are going to give up trying to change that right?

See, "social issue" has disappeared.

And how about judges? Roe is a fantastic litmus test. I said this on another post but a judge who wants to scrap Roe is not going to give an illegal in-state tuition or your home to a drug company.

See, no "social issue". Just a simple jurisprudence "fiscal conservative" tax and property matter.
