Bottom line - investing in land in the US is much more risky.

The problem is that in the southwest and mountain west there are vast expanses of land that have always been considered government lands, by default I guess you could say— Never titled to a private party.”

BEFORE Teddy Roosevelt started taking land for Federal Parks, etc, the land was in a title of private ownership of one kind or another.

Cattle barons owned huge areas. Lumber companies owned huge areas. In the loser Southwest, there were Spanish Land Grants, often connected to the Missions.

The Feds have just steamrolled in & taken many, many acres of land that should be private.

The state of Nevada is over 84% under the control of the Feds.
