HITH does a recount end up with different numbers each time? The system needs to be thoroughly revamped to exclude people who can’t count.

Ah well, I live in Fairfax Co. and expected this result but damn if it wasn’t close.

Especially since they opted for a blithering idiot instead.

Pathetic.

Gerry Connolly had a SWELL time going to the ....get this....Islamic Spirit Convention to support Dar al Hijrah at the Islamic Institute, on April 3rd, 2010——to RAISE FUNDS for them!!!!!

Virginia voters get what they deserve. Throw them in the trash heap with California.

Hopefully he runs again. I suspect he’ll do better in 2012.

The recount should go ahead, just to ensure that the system is working as it should.

A democrat never concedes, damn the cost.

The laws of the State of VA says the recount should go forward, because the integrity of the vote has to be maintained.

So do it. The $ 100,000 cost os nothing compared to ensuring that the election was fair.

For the life of me every close election goes to the Democrat.

I am convinced the Dems push fraud because the GOP will never have the nads to fight it.

And Fimian just proved it.

“Virginia voters get what they deserve. Throw them in the trash heap with California.”

Not a good comparison.
The Virgina House delegation is 8R - 3D
The California House delegation is 18R - 35D

Spineless. Must not have wanted to be elected THAT bad. What a slap to the people who voted for this quitter.

I stand corrected. Thank you.
I am upset. Some news doesn’t get out to voters—I don’t like an American helping to raise funds for Islam-anything. Especially, an American politician.

I am doubtful that you recognize integrity when you encounter it.

I couldn’t agree more. Democrats are always willing to fight to the end. Republicans (with a few exceptions like Palin, DeMint, Bachmann and Pence) are always ready to give up. Like the French army, most Republicans always wear white underwear just in case they need a surrender flags.

I am sorry to see Connelly win - he is awful. There were lots of Fimian signs and not a single Connelly sign in our neighborhood. But the Hispanics and Asians apparently went overwhelmingly for him.

Northern Virginia is filled to the rim with government workers. I’m surprised that Fimian came so close.

What does integrity have to do with it? Either you fight to the end or give up. Fight for the “integrity” of the vote and those who voted for you.

Are there ANY close races which Republicans have battled and won this year?

I’m not familiar with this race, but the concession does sound rather weak.

I would think this candidate owes it to his supporters to request a recount, just to insure the integrity of the election.

Wonder if the voters could push for a recount! After all, it’s been the tea party and other mad as hell voters who have done the work this year. Of course, it would have to be the Virginia voters.

I’ll bet the Dems have a 95% success rate in races closer than 1%. This is outside statistical probability.
Hopefully, states will legislate voter integrity laws.
