If this happened LAST NIGHT, why didn't we get an explanation then?
Why is this taking so long?

Doesn't know what it was, but isn't alarmed? Does that make a lot of sense to anyone?

Thats what I was thinking. New geopolitical age.
There is an explanation, and I can’t think of any that have a good outcome.

“but there is no record of our military reacting or responding or scrambling defenses after it happened.”
That may not be entirely true.

Two Coastguard ships dispatched. I dont wear tinfoil but one should look at coincidence when dealing with anomalous incidents.

Except for one thing, the Chinese boats SUCK. They are noisy as all hell. I can’t discount it though, China is smart enough to develop weaponry underground where its development can’t bee easily detected.
Honestly can you think of any Nation able to build boats quiet enough we can’t hear then 35 miles off our coast?

Obama leaves the country...hears intel on a credible threat that our coastline might be attacked by a nuclear missle? He goes to India and gets the hell out of the country to go on a trip that was canceled 2 times before at the same time spectacular UPS planes are scheduled to blow up every where in the sky.
I could see Obama easily saving his own ass and being out of the country while a quarter of us melt away.
Now that theory makes sense. I have wonder if the reason that Obama spends so much time out of Washington is because he fears the nation's capitol will be the target of an attack and he doesn't want to be in DC when it happens.
So does anyone know if any Islamic countries have the capability to launch a missile from a sub? Can Iran do something like that? I don't know so I'm asking more knowledgeable Freepers for this answer.

>>>
the former ambassador said it could possibly have been a missile test timed as a demonstration of American military might <<<
That might make sense if the launch was from one of the 34 warships babysitting ObamaBaby. Not from our own shores. Who are we trying to impress - Canada?
Makes no sense off our own shores....by the way, does anyone know which direction the contrail headed...East? or West?
Vandenburg is used to launch polar orbit satellites - so many of them go North. I believe that now Vandenburg only launches shorter range missiles to the West.
When I worked there in the '60's we launched ICBM's. But I think we have stopped testing those - evidently we don't need them because Russia is so scrupulous in following missile treatys!!

diesel/electric are quieter than nuclear subs, but you’d have the issue of limited time under the surface before you needed to recharge the batteries, not to mention I have never heard of an electric sub with missile capabilities.

The thing I remember about the night of TWA is Wolf Blitzer telling us to stand by because President Clinton was going to address the nation at any moment...and then it was scrapped. I was confused...since when did the President of the U.S.A. go on live television to address the nation after an accident?
Then George Stephonopolous running down the streets on 9/11 saying that This is totally different than the TWA bombing, yeah...center fuel tank explosion.
Don't forget that John Kerry included the TWA incident when referring to other terrorist attacks against America on the night of 9/11 when he was on the Larry King show.

Does anyone believe the fuel tank “story” anymore? I was working for a defense contractor at the time of TWA and it was a known fact that it wasn’t a fuel tank explosion. Of course, what I heard is that it wasn’t a bomb, but a missile test gone very bad...

Its amazing the number of know-it-all’s out there....people are speculating without even watching the video.
It was a missile....all you have to do is watch the video.
