Yeah he sure does. Something isn’t it? To have to get objective critiques on Obama from foreign news sources.

You are just stating why

So how come Obama and the democrats got elected in 2008

Because obama didn't run as himself. He ran as a caricature of what he and his handlers thought voters wanted.

Conservatism wasn't on the ballot in 2008 (unless you count GWB's counterfeit 'compassionate conservatism').

We are a conservative nation. That doesn’t mean there aren’t a whole bunch of idiots running around. And, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a hugh amount of corruption. And, it doesn’t mean that the media aren’t shills for the Dems. Conservatives have a natural belief in the good of people and we have been deceived for generations. Now, we have access to sources outside the MSM and awareness that there are people working to destroy our great country.

1. Because many people were cheesed with the Republicans in general and Bush in particular. And...

2. Because say what you will about Obama, but the guy was very good at pulling the wool over people’s eyes.

If we were a conservative nation there wouldn’t be Social Security—medicare—Student loans —federal aid to education etc etc

Ronald Reagan wouldn’t have had to deal with being harassed by a democrat congress

Bush wouldn’t have won the GOP primary in 2000

Democrats wouldn’t have taken congress in 2006

Obama wouldn’t have won along with the democrats in 2008

Murkowski wouldn’t be winning in Alaska

Nobody would be watching ABC CBS AND NBC —they all would be watching FOX

Conservatism wasn’t on the ballot in 2008 but Marxism was and it won

America is not a conservative nation

Very small % are true conservatives

And I don’t care how any politician runs —He has a record and real conservatives are BSed by the MSM

Real conservatives know what is actually going on and don’t get brain washed by ABC CBS NBC especially when they have an alternative in FOX

I believe we are mostly conservative and live our lives as such.

But we, the people, are easily distracted and most don't pay attention to politics unless we are in financial pain or there is some political personality to love or hate.

So, while I agree with most of your post, I'd say GWB, race and skin color were on the ballot in 2008 rather than Marxism, at least as far as the campaigning was concerned.

Unfortunately, we've been spoon fed socialism for so long we've forgotten why it should be shunned and avoided, no matter what. We don't see what is plainly before us.

By 2010 voters did see what they had actually voted for, realized the truth of what you said and then voted accordingly.

Like in dating and marriage, personality more often than not initially trumps principle, much to the chagrin of all.

There are no common reference points.

Come on man. We all have jinns and devils in our toilets and we all carry three stones.

At the core the US is conservative. The producers, that is. We have had a century of creeping socialism that has created several generations of parasites that have drunk the cool-aide and are hopeless (until the socialist Ponzi scheme collapses). The people who take responsibility for themselves are mainly conservative. Don't confuse the population with the government hacks. Democrat leadership understands that hey are full of bullsh*t. They just know selling their snake oil is the only path to power. Unfortunately we have the inbred idiots riding the gravy train.

I suggest we watch the next 4-6 years and see if I am right or we turn into Cuba.

Don’t remember any nation in history turning around once it starts down the road to ruin

"Don’t remember any nation in history turning around once it starts down the road to ruin"

So you're packing your bags? Or buying ammunition?

What do you think the odds of a "turnaround" are?

At 74 I have lived the vast majority of my life

I am playing out the string

I dread what my nieces and nephews and their kids are going to face
