This was an ascendency so dramatic that it washed the "Obama Senate Seat" away from the Democrats in deep blue Illinois

And gave it to the most ultra liberal politician anywhere.

Believe me, the democrats still "have" that seat.

Mark Kirk won’t set the tone in the Senate. Between the influx of new conservatives and surviving Red State Democrats, we have functional control of the upper house. Dingy Harry is now majority leader in name only.

I can think of at least 4 VIRTUAL Democrats in the GOP list ....

Mark Kirk, Susan Colins, Olympia Snowe, Lindsay Graham. Had Linda McMahon won in CT, she would be the fifth, and had Mike Castle won in Delaware instead of Coons, he would be the sixth. I am not even sure where to place guys like John McCain ( and sometimes, Richard Lugar ).
