An estimated 760 rooms have been booked by the President’s contingent and Indian authorities receiving him in Maurya, Taj, The Ashok and Intercontinental hotels.
Official estimates suggest during Obama’s maiden visit to the capital, the combined cost of Indian and White House officials will be about Rs 15 lakh per hour.

Just his two-day stay at Maurya will cost anywhere between Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 1.8 crore per day.

India, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan,
Support for Obama is not nearly as strong in Japan, China and South Korea as it is in some other parts of the world. Just 29% of the Japanese, 13% of the Chinese and 9% of South Koreans express a lot of confidence in Obama. By comparison, majorities in Kenya (78%), Germany (56%) and Nigeria (55%), as well as nearly half in Canada (47%) and 43% in Britain, say the American president inspires a lot of confidence in them.

Among others in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Akihiro Takahashi, 79, former curator of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum who once wrote to Obama urging him to visit Hiroshima, said “I have been so let down, and now I would like to tell Obama not to come.”
Some officials within US government circles have viewed that such a visit would benefit Obama’s agenda of ridding the world of nuclear arms and prevent nuclear proliferation. But others believe the visit would entail political risk, as there is widespread perception among the US general public that it would be tantamount to an apology.

Considering these factors, some officials view there would not be much to gain for Obama spending time and effort visiting Hiroshima or Nagasaki at this point, as he has already declared his intention to seek a world without nuclear weapons.

It is likely to be a good time to get out of Dodge — some conservative critics have even portrayed the trip as a flight to avoid awkward questions about Democratic election losses.

Just days after the midterm elections, President Barack Obama will fly to Asia for a four-country diplomatic tour, which is bound to be a relief in some ways.
The president will leave behind the bruising partisan politics of the domestic arena for the friendly turf of India, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan. It is also “a very good time for a president of the United States to reassure allies and friends, given some of the actions and anxiety and concern about Chinese behavior this last year,” he said. Vice President Al Gore stood in for Clinton in 1995 and 1998.

Obama also will visit Pakistan in 2011, the White House announced when it said Obama would not stop there this trip, as some commentators had speculated.

Why not go this time? He’s already over there. Oh, silly me, an excuse for another trip on tax payer dollars next year. Or maybe the big Moose didn’t want to go to Pakistan. Too icky for her.

The president thinks he is an emperor, and entitled to take whatever he wants from the people who he hates.

“...Since Obama will stay in a hotel that is on sea front, elaborate coastal security arrangements have been made by the US Navy in consonance with the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard. “There will be US naval ships, along with Indian vessels , patrolling the sea till about 330-km from the shore. This is to negate the possibility of a missile being fired from a distance,” the officer said.”

First bill from the new house: limit president vacation expenses to one million bucks a trip. There has to be a way to cut off the spigot for this stuff.

I’m sure someone already posted this, but just in case they didn’t:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/907935/posts

The headline reads:

“Lameduck President’s Continuing Globetrotting Forays
Latest Trip Pegged at $50 Million —
Most Expensive Presidential Trip Ever”

That’s 1/4 of a day of what this db is spending. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!!! I hope the news got out early enough to affect today’s voting...

Check out other comments, too.

It was our money paying for this trip. - 0bama, and soros's goal is to destroy the USA financially, then sit back and watch Civil War II physically destroy the country when everyone finally wakes up to what has happened.

Is everyone aware of this?

“A teleprompter will be in use for the first time in the Central Hall of Parliament when US President Barack Obama addresses MPs on November eight.”

“As per the tentative programme being worked out, the address by Obama, who once said that “America has its roots in the India of Mahatma Gandhi”, would not be for more than 20 minutes.”
