Not too strong on basic mathematics, are you.

Not too strong on basic grammar, are you?

The magic number is 51 conservatives. We have a long way to go. Sen. Jim DeMint has stated that the Republican Party may not be ready for the majority. He may have a point. In any event we can get to 51 without Kirk. Just like we can get there without Castle.

Right now, I am planning on voting for Labno for both the remainder of Burris' term and the full term, but more brow-beating for Kirk may persuade me to vote for Giannolias outright.

I voted for Lieberman against Weicker, and I voted for Poshard over George Ryan. I regret neither vote.

What kind of candidate do we have when the Democrats see it as worth their while to send flyers attacking him to Republicans?

A candidate they are afraid of. A candidate that can win in obama's home state. That's what. Propaganda costs money, so when I throw it out, they lose maybe 11 cents. If I start considering it though, it's done its job, and they win. A Kirk win will be a huge kick in the nuts to this regime. National politics is nothing if not a display of prestige, so I'll vote for Spanky the Clown if it will help to bring these jerks down. Besides, Fiorina, et al are not in my state, not on any ballot I'll ever see.

I can understand the rationale of voting Kirk for the R to get control of the Senate, though I don’t agree with it. PLEASE tell me you won’t support Topinka for comptroller.

Not this time, the trend is against all of those things I mentioned. I doubt Kirk will buck that trend, but I am certain Giannoulias will. Voters can hold Kirk’s feet to the fire, but you know right off of the bat where Giannoulias stands (right with Obama).
That’s the difference.

Bears repeating.

I thought this was a comment about Illinois professional football in the middle of an Illinois political thread. LOL!!

I see no evidence that Kirk responds to feet being held to the fire. I see him as being a tool of the Combine, and that it would be next to impossible to primary him out in six years. I KNOW we can beat a weak Dem, like we did with Mosely-Braun. Oh, and Alex G. is DEFINITELY an indictment risk. I would love to have Governor Brady appoint his replacement, and it better not be Kirk.

This is my last reply to you, bottom line is that this country is under attack and you are looking for the perfect candidate and when you don’t get it — you will vote for the Socialist agenda.
I don’t know how many more hits this country can take, so vote for the Dem who stands with zerO.

By the way if I was one of your patients (if you are a doctor) — I would definitely get another opinion.

I voted for Poshard over George Ryan.

As did I. Your vote is yours to p**** away however you like. That's your right.

It does however considerably lower my respect level for you and several other short-sighted IL Freepers.

The Democrats used this disgusting tactic years ago when Gray Davis contributed to a conservative opponent’s campaign in order to knock out a more politically dangerous moderate Republican. Unfortunately, it worked well for him... at that time, anyway.

That's funny I was just thinking the same thing about you, and several other short-sighted freepers (who are probably different short-sighted freepers than the ones on your list).

Please at least tell me you aren't voting for Baar-Topinka.

There are some things I am simply incapable of. That's one of them.

But I'm pretty sure Laz would hit it.

That being said being an Illinois conservative has got to be one of the most frustrating things on Earth. I've watched for over 20 years as the IL RCC has blown opportunity after opportunity, sabotage good conservative candidates, and just generally f*** things up every chance they get.

Well this is the last time the 'annointed' Illinois Republican candidate gets my vote, absolutely the last time. If Kirk pulls this thing out and pulls a Spectre I'll never work another Illinois Republican campaign in my life.

Ever.

Okay, I think we’ll “be on the same team” again after the election. I do have high hopes for Brady. Our “trip wires” are in somewhat different places. Mine is between Scott Brown and Mark Kirk.

Liberal Kirk getting elected will be NO kick in the nuts to Obama. If it was a conservative who were to get elected then yes, that would hurt Obama. Obama probably would rather Kirk get elected than Giannoulias. If you were Obama who would you rather see get elected in this race, a corrupt buddy who will probably be in legal trouble soon, or an opportunist big govt. RINO, who will be there at times to help you out with your agenda.

Remember, Obama made Illinois Republican, Ray LaHood the Transportation Secretary, and LaHood has the most statist agenda of any transporation secretary ever, including a federal ban on hands free cell phones. Why hands free cell phones? Well, that way if ANY phone signal shows an automobile is moving, the driver is busted.

I do have high hopes for Brady.

So do I. Fortunately for me I live in Roskams district. He's been a pretty decent guy who's actually called me personally once or twice.

Believe me I'm as disgusted as you are about this Kirk thing. We get stuck with that RINO dirtball when we could have had Oberweiss. Like I said, the IL RCC needs to be purged top to bottom and side to side.

And I like to think we're on the same team now. But if the Pubs can end up with 51 or 52 Senate seats then the Obama agenda is stopped dead in its tracks and maybe, just maybe, some of this crap that's been stuffed down our throats can be de-funded and ultimately repealed under President Palin.

So for now, personally, I'm going to suck it up, hold my nose, vote for Kirk, and then go talk a long, long, LONG, hot shower.

Best,

L

Maelstrom: As you probably recognize, if it is somehow a "dirty trick" for Alexi Giannoulias (who, unlike Nancyboy Kirk at least runs as the candidate of the Dimowit party whose views he reflects about as well as those views are reflected by Nancyboy Kirk) to tell the truth and point out that pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family Libertarian Mike Labno is far more Republican than is Nancyboy, is it not a dirtier trick for pro-death, anti-family, pro-cap 'n' tax gun-grabber Nancyboy to be dressing up for Halloween as though he were even remotely related to the actual GOP?

Those who oppose Kirk by their votes in this election will have NOTHING to apologize for in the event that Nancyboy were (God forbid!) elected. Those who support Nancyboy have much to answer for whether he is elected or not. The question is whether there should be an actual GOP in Illinois. Electing Brady as governor would move us in the right direction. Electing Nancyboy would move us in the wrong direction. Not only that but each and every vote for Nancyboy, win, lose or draw is a vote for the continued corruption of the GOP.

There is NO immediate emergency requiring Kirk's election. The GOP can wait until 2012 to have a majority that would be a LOT more Republican than Nancyboy.

If Schmuckie Chewmer should wind up as Demonrat Senate Leader, that will be because Sharron Angle defeated Harry Reid. I am all for Reid's defeat and anyone with any sort of objective view as a conservative must view an Angle victory as FAR more desirable than electing Nancyboy. If Schmuckie becomes Demonrat Senate Leader, it may give him the visibility to be defeated or, at least, to become the Nancy Pelosi of the Senate whose very existence and image as Demonrat Leader facilitates the systematic destruction of his caucus by outraged voters all over America.

You can trust the Demonrats: to be Demonrats no matter by whom they are led. Schmuckie brings that special extra obnoxiousness that will cost many of his buddies their Senate seats. They are going to have a leader in any event and we are not, as conservatives, going to like that leader.

It would be a great thing if people on FR would actually read Saul Alinsky's books: Reveille for Radicals and Rules for Radicals (both books still in print as cheap paperbacks) to better understand strategy and to better understand what we are actually up against. The radical left leaders are not miracle workers but they are very adept at manipulating voters which is what they do.

If Alinsky were alive and were somehow one of us, he would advise that we isolate the radicals in one party (the Demonrat Party), purge them from the ranks of the GOP, target the radicals and their Demonrat Party and systematically destroy both.

The moderate mugwumps (mugs on one side of the fence and wumps on the other) who infest the Illinois GOP say that we should not purge the Nancyboys, that we should not isolate the radicals by forcing all of them into the Demonrat Party. After all, we may NEED their votes somehow, sometime on some issue or other (and,BTW, if we need those votes, we WILL NOT get them).

Ray Lahood was not nearly as bad as Nancyboy (although he deserved to be purged too) and he is now a cabinet member for Obamao. To those who would vote for Nancyboy, wake up and get a backbone. Select, don't settle. Punish the party until it stops nominating despicable trash like Kirk. Joy Behar is Nancyboy in drag with a bit worse language in public. Nancyboy lusts after, among other things, the opportunity to be Illinois's own Arlen Specter (actually Nancyboy would be worse than Snarlin' Arlen) or Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, forever having his backside smooched by the GOP for each and every Senate vote, often unsuccessfully fort the GOP and for America.

How many have noticed that Nancyboy claims that he was "lied to" on WMD? Sound familiar? You cannot trust him even on military and foreign policy.

He won't be on my conscience just as Weicker never was when I lived in Connecticut since I never voted for him either. I have already voted: Labno for the short term through the end of this year and Giannoulias for the six year term (or however little of it he serves before federal prison intervenes at which point Brady appoints his far more conservative successor). For the first time in my life, I am rooting for unanimous turnout from the Cook County cemeteries. Go, dead voters! Go, dead voters!

Nancyboy is sooooo bad that he is making me agree with Daley the Younger and that was no easy trick. I can certainly understand the many actual conservatives who will vote for the only conservative in the race: Mike Labno: pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, anti-taxation, etc.

Lurker: If we have the House and at least 41 reliable Senators (not Snowe, not Collins and takes a gain of only two or three if you count Scott Brown as unreliable) and we shall easily have both, then Obamao’s agenda is dead in its tracks anyway. You don’t need a GOP Senate majority just yet. So says Jim DeMint who knows whereof he speaks. Take a look at the next two Senate classes (2012 and 2014) and you will see where our real majority will come from. And that will be when it counts when a Republican POTUS makes judicial appointments and particularly to SCOTUS. 41 reliable Republican Senators can stop Obamao’s entire agenda in the meantime under the Senate rules. Likely outcome on Tuesday: Net GOP pickup in the House of 60+ and in the Senate of 7 or 8 (without Nancyboy who is nothing but a fraud anyway who would make Snowe and Collins look reliable).

PMAS: You are a New Yorker and not an Illinoisan. Ordinarily, your state of residence would make no difference but we who live in Illinois are living with a singularly corrupt GOP which thrives on cash injections which it gains by putting people like Nancyboy in office. If he gets elected, he will see to the cashflow of federal funds to corruptocrats posing for holy pictures in GOP drag and he will block the choosing of any US Attorney who would prosecute the Demonrat half of the Combine never mind the "Republican" half and of any judge likely to jail them. If you love Obamao and the "Chicago Way" of cramming everything unacceptable down your throat, then Nancyboy Kirk will help Obamao with the cramming every bit as much as Giannoulias.

You have no knowledge of Illinois, no knowledge of what we are dealing with, no particularly sophisticated approach to matters political, no genuine strategic thinking and no long term resistance to the destruction of our state and nation. You see our nation as being weak enough to be destroyed by Obamao unless we in Illinois encourage the continued corruption of Illinois and American politics by the election of frauds like Nancyboy for no better reason than that he has misappropriated the "R" next to his name.

How has that strategy strengthened the New York GOP? Your GOP, somewhat competitive with Illinois GOP in ideological and maybe even financial corruption, wanted to nominate Rick Loser Lazio. How did that work out? Your last GOP Senator was that pillar of integrity Alphonse D'Amato. You have, what (?), two Congressmen left before Tuesday? Control of neither house of the state legislature? DeDe Scozzafava as a GOP nominee in a very winnable House special election, despite being Planned Barrenhood's girl in Albany??? Yet you are giving advice to other states???

When I lived in Connecticut and was angry at Weicker as I am now with Nancyboy, I was young enough to drive from New Haven to NYC and volunteer for Jim Buckley's successful campaign to dispose of an appointed Senator Charles Goodell (referenced by Spiro Agnew as the "Christine Jorgenson" ["Christine" was notorious for a manhood removing "sex change" operation) of the New York GOP politics). Eventually, it was Republicans who took Weicker's Senate seat away and gave it to Lieberman. I would do it again and every time. Can you find something more worthwhile to do politically than sticking your nose into this election in Illinois?

Just what is the real difference on REAL issues that separates Nancyboy from Giannoulias in standing with Obamao so much as to justify the further corruption of the Illinois GOP and the GOP Senate Caucus in Washington, DC??? Also, we are about to elect an actual conservative GOP governor in Bill Brady. Giannoulias has one foot in prison and the other on a banana peel which likely leads to an actual conservative US Senator appointed by Brady. That is a real advantage.

See, YOU needed a second opinion and now you have one.

Some of us do not put our conscience in trust to be voted by the GOP primary voters in a rigged February primary. Judy BaahBaah Tooopinka was nominated by the primary voters as well and the day will not dawn when I will ever vote for that lot lizard either.
