The original Washington Senators moved to Minnesota and became the Twins. An expansion team was awarded to Washington, but shortly thereafter, they moved to Texas. Washington: First in War, First in Peace, Last in the American League.
It should also be noted that the Senators are playing the New York Giants. The Giants played in New York, at the Polo Grounds from 1883 to 1957. They last won a World Series in 1954. Indeed, put your money on the Rangers/Senators, because the "Curse of Coogan's Bluff" ensures the Giants will not win a World Series until they return to New York.
