Even NPR reported that the gym was less than half full.

My favs from the article:

But he began his speech just before 3 p.m. in a high school gym that was less than half full. The appearance was in support of gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero, shown in most polls to be trailing Republican candidate Rick Snyder by 20 percentage points.
- - -
Shortly before Clinton took the stage, the Rev. Wendell Anthony, president of the Detroit branch of the NAACP, urged attendees to leave bleacher seats along one side of the gym and try to fill the area in front of the podium before Clinton began his address.
- - -
And my ultimate fav...
Though polls point to a strong Republican year, “we’re not buying that malarkey,” said U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. “We don’t care about polls.”

Maybe Bill Clinton's comments at late Senator Robert Byrd's funeral that it was okay for Senator Robert Byrd to be a member of the Klu Klux Klan may have hurt his popularity.

I don't think this plays well [saying the KKK is okay] to the African-Americans of this country.

What I find puzzling is that Clinton is heavily involved in campaigning for the rats now. Given what is about to happen 9 days from now, Clinton (and Hillary) will have their finger prints on the largest electoral shift in American political history (dwarfing the 1994 GOP landslide)

I would think that Bill and Hillary would not even attempt to campaign so they could then point to Hussein as the sole reason why the 2010 elections happened. Now they have to share the egg on their faces. From the GOP stand point, I am not complaining. I am rather curious that Bill is spending soooo much of his effort doing this. He will be partly blamed for what is about to happen. I would think that he would have steered clear.

While the crowd hoisted signs that stated “Virg Surge,” the turnout at the rally was anemic. More than 500 people came to the rally, but the gym at Renaissance High School was only about one-third full, even though Clinton used to command full houses wherever he went, especially in Detroit.

500 People? For Bill Clinton? DAYUM! You could call a Tea Party in Podunk and get more than that!

He's certainly not the boy Governor or the boy President any more.

He looks old and frail to me.

Drudge is giving him credit for a half full gym. The article CLEARLY says “about 1/3 full” ... so perhaps it was really only 1/4 full (with an added MSM bump.

“but the gym at Renaissance High School was only about one-third full, even though Clinton used to command full houses wherever he went, especially in Detroit.”
