I saw him in the 80’s as well. It was at the Whiskey a GoGo on the Sunset Strip. Sabatoge Tour. Been a fan since I started listening to music.

Maureen was “spotted” at a Tea Party Rally in an interview she did with someone in the media. I don’t think she spoke out AS a musician onstage somewhere or even muscled her way onto the stage at the rally to say “look at me! think like me!”

VU were also “happy” about the cliche “summer of love” when everyone was writing a sappy song about heading to San Francisco. It made all of the gullible joiners leave and head West while they also noticed the bottom feeding dope dealers heading Westward to prey on the happy hunting grounds.
Cleared the air for what they were into.
