FlyingEagle - since when has the FedGov worried about anything related to restricting private weapon carry/use ?
OTOH, This (2A) is the same kind of argument that folks use when upset about other gun laws - which have gone to court - and been upheld by the courts.
Happy about the restrictions? No.
OK with them, given the current climate - sorta.
Am I going to break the law to “exercise my God-given Constitutional RIghts” - not a chance,
I have learned to pick my battles - and this is one that you are not going to win, and may even get youself killed
Two words
Erik. Scott.
OK, maybe I’m in a bad mood, but your answer is 100% stupid.
First, did you really think we were under the impression that an on-duty MP had to walk around without a weapon? We’re talking about whether soldiers can carry when their duties don’t directly demand it.
Second, that’s nice that an MP or range officer can carry a side arm, but Hasan didn’t attack a range or the cop shop, he attacked soft targets. Had he attacked a rifle range, he would have been dead three seconds into his attack.
Third, the word “Yes” is not an answer to the question I asked you, which was “Since when?”
Fourth, unless you can point to a change in policy on who can carry when, there is no difference between Bush era and Obama era policy.
Good grief, don’t make me defend Emperor Zero again.
