It is emotional blackmail, as you say.

For decades they have presented themselves as everything that is good, while anyone who does not approve of their behavior is mean, bigoted etc. But if you look at the way the gay movement has behaved over the years, you will see that they have done many things that are anti-social and harmful to society. Look back to the beginning of the aids era. How did the gays act? Everything they did was selfish and hurtful to others. Here are some of the things that they did when the aids epidemic began.

1) At the very beginning of the epidemic, some wanted to quarantine people with aids since there was no known cure for the disease. The gay movement opposed this because they said that it took away their rights.
2)When blood banks wanted to ask blood donors whether they were gay, in order to protect the blood supply, the gay movement protested this as it was not fair to them.
3)When some wanted to close the gay bathhouses in San Francisco, once again, they hollered no fair.
4)There were random tests done on the public to see how far the disease had spread, but the gay groups did not want the people tested to know whether they had tested positive.
5)When doctors wanted to notify partners of aids positive people, the gay activists demanded that the partners not be notified. How many wives, and girlfriends have been infected by men with aids and how many children have been born with aids because of the self-centered interest of the gay political community?
6)For decades the gay movement has used all sorts of attention getting methods to get funding for aids, everything from the aids red ribbon campaigns, which had all the celebrities wearing red ribbons at the Academy Awards to the aids quilt which traveled all around the country. All of these costly efforts to stop aids when all they had to do was to stop being promiscuous. Meanwhile people with other fatal diseases had to compete with the very loud and well connected aids lobby for research money.

Gays have been selfish and mean spirited in other ways as well. It was a very popular gay pastime to “out” people. Prominent people were exposed as homosexuals in the gay press. Notice the hypocrisy as the recent story of the homosexual college student who was secretly live streamed having sex in his dorm room and who later committed suicide. This has been all over the news and was considered a hate crime but gays have been outing other gays for years and nobody called it a hate crime. Lately, creepy Perez Hilton, who tried to destroy Miss California, is now saying that he will not out anybody anymore, apparently because of the suicide of the gay college student. What took him so long to see the error of his ways?

The gay movement has been very well funded for several decades now and it has all of the earmarks of a leftist cultural war campaign.
