I’ve seen other stories which say that this little gab-fest will be commercial free. I trust, then, that it will go down as a substantial contribution by Viacom, the owner of miscreat networks, to the Democratic Party.

Does anyone even watch MTV anymore? I can’t even tell you what channel it’s on.

Sad—used to be that MTV was the channel that we had on “in the background” at parties and when there wasn’t anything else interesting on. (Now it’s Fox News or the Discovery Channel showing “How It’s Made” marathons.)

I want my old MTV! :-)

This won't matter. It sort of reminds me of this graphic:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV_Get_off_the_Air

"MTV Get off the Air" is track 8 of the 1985 Dead Kennedys album Frankenchrist. In his lyrics, Jello Biafra admonishes MTV for what he feels is its attempt at forced conformity under the guise of being cutting-edge. The song begins with a pep rally style cheer encouraging the listener to sit on their sofa, smoke cannabis, and drink beer. The sound of a television being turned on is heard, and Biafra begins to impersonate a veejay, and tells the viewer he is there "to destroy what's left of your imagination by feeding you endless doses of sugar-coated mindless garbage".

Later on, Biafra claims that "tin-eared graph-paper brained accountants instead of music fans call all the shots at giant record companies now". He ends the song with the mantra "M.T.V.- Get off the air! NOW!"

Now, let's put MTV aside and talk about the youth vote in general. If the youth vote was really going to matter this year, Obama wouldn't have been at UW-Madison last week. If he's going to one of the most liberal colleges in the country, in a city known far and wide for far left bilge, in a state he won by 14 points, to campagn for an 18 year incumbent (who almost didn't show up lest he be seen with Emperor Zero) to ask college kids for their votes, then there ain't any youth vote coming, baby.
