CP, we're enthusiastic about Palin because she speaks our language and is willing to go toe-to-toe with the leftists. Why does support for her have to be cultist?
This lady already has several 1st’s notched into her pistol handles and I’m sure more are coming. I view nothing in the light of political expediency or calculations but squarely at leadership.
Leadership is not about jumping from one stone to another but instead identifying a need or direction, finding a ford and moving straight across the river. Damn the wet clothes and boots, they’ll dry later.
Laugh all you want, but facts are facts. If McCain hadn't picked Palin, the Republican Party would have went the way of the Know-Nothings.
Cultists are good at one thing for sure: trotting out seemingly endless excuses for the ridiculous.
Not to mention that he stopped running, rolled over and played dead while publicly supporting Obama.
The loser threw the election.
Steele needs to stay on. Otherwise we get a Rove-Bush crowd creep, pure RINO establishment.
George H.W. Bush
Either you forgot the /sarc tag or are just a simple Kool-Aid drinking short sighted stool. But then again, you just might be a Mitt For Brains sycophant.
In her first high profile debate, all objective reports were that she beat Bite Me or at worst was a draw.
I knew nothing about this...
Anything from the RNC goes directly into the round file. They have nothing to say that I will even take the time to open and read. No matter WHOSE name they flaunt.
“So Haley Barbour was a washed up party hack in 1993?”
No, and I did not mean to imply him personally, though he is getting along in years.....a general statement such as what I posted usually is wrong in a couple of specific instances....oops!
Haley is one of the unsung heroes of the Republican Party. His stewardship of Mississippi is exemplary. Even with that as a given it will be difficult to cast him as a Presidential candidate and garner much national support. It’s a shame, but to be a successful candidate in the modern era takes more than idealogy, doing the right thing, with a percieved spine.
I, and many others here, think we see traces of the neccessary elements for a winning candidate and effective President in Palin.
Each month she seems to become stronger, and her voice for the people more credible......coming from a distant state where national issues are not much on the fore, Sarah has adapted, is learning well the challenges facing the nation, and seems capable of providing simple, direct solutions to those challenges. I believe she will be the death of PC as a political talking point....time again will tell!
We do, however have a long way to go.......I guess if we wait around long enough, we’ll find out what is what.....I am looking forward to seeing how all this shakes out.....
I received one of those letters. As I always do, I took my medium Sharpie pen and wrote a message on the letter over top of what the RNC had printed on it, and mailed it back in their pre-paid envelope.
I wrote: “Dear Sarah: Caution! The RINOs at the RNC are using your good name in a scheme to raise money for other RINOs! Please be careful who you associate with! No money coming from me! When I contribute it is DIRECTLY to the candidate of my choice! Not in response to a phoney-baloney mailing from the RNC!”
Good grief. It really is a cult!
I’m not overly excited about Palin as Presidential material, but she would be an AMAZING RNC Chair! Wonder if this appearing with Steele thing is a sort of lateral move toward that?
Oh sooooo rogue. aghhh
I understand your thinking and accept it as credible, but I think you are missing one important factor for the whole picture. She is obviously one who has read Sun Tzu and one of the most important lessons to be learned from competitive sports is not to peak before the battles are won. You describe well your perceptions of her climb from obscurity but I feel you are discounting the meeasured methodology she is employing as she moves along.
I beleive her experiences in the 08 campaign have been a godsend in that it openened her eyes to the caustic nature of both the opposition and those within her ranks who felt threatened by her vision and direct focus on getting things done the most expeditious way possible.
Thank you for your illuminating post...........
“She is obviously one who has read Sun Tzu and one of the most important lessons to be learned from competitive sports is not to peak before the battles are won.”
I agree with you entirely and have my own well thumbed copy of “The Art of War” within arms reach on my ‘puter desk.....
I try not to get too weighty in my postings aiming to present my observations in as simple terms as possible.....
People that dismiss Sarah Palin with only a cursory glance, or only a media provided 30 sec sound bite are missing the boat, and doing themselves a disservice. There is much more than meets the eye in that lady, as you so rightly observe.
Time will tell on whether or not she can communicate to the electorate the guiding principals that she shares with a majority of Americans and convince them that the reins of Government are best placed in her hands.....
Politics is both a wonderious and terrible enterprize....especially given the concurrent sophistication and naiveté of the American voter coupled with a disfunctional Forth Estate.
The future of our nation is not assured, and its success will be achieved only through dedication and hard work of both the elected official and the eloctorate.
So far I believe that Sarah Palin is showing the traits of hard work and dedication that lead me to believe in her suitability for the highest elected office in the land.
