Having a computer or not, is NOT the point. Indeed, just because computers make it easier, does not justify the Charlie Foxtrot tax code we have in this country.
It all needs to be thrown out, burned, and the ashes buried in the ash heap of history.
Right, but it did establish that in “civil” matters they can change the law retroactively, including tax obligations. That is what th eClinton administration did some years ago - a retroactive tax hike.

IIRC, the *fix* (or repeal?) was up for a vote and the donks shot it down.
It’s late, but an R-critter sponsored the bill (of course). Someone who has time to troll through the House proceedings of the past month or two should be able to find it.
I’m sure whomever it was is not going to forget.
