I find it stunning how many people are led by the last headline. They do no research. When I first found out about Carl’s past I said to myself, “Wait a minute, let me find out the whole story.” They should know better than to trust the MSM, but they automatically jump to the worst conclusions.

Your first line.........Carl Paladino committed the sin of adultery. How many commit the sin of fornication? Fornicators lack character...

Your last line.....

“Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone.”

One of the biggest bullets in the liberal gun that has been fired at conservatives for the last 40 years has been the expectation of perfection.

We fall into their trap by going along with every slight, and becoming hyper sensitive to basic everyday human fault.

It’s way past time to to forgive. Current wrongs must have consequence, but past transgressions? He did and is doing the right thing and his wife has forgiven him. Who are we to say she is wrong to do so?

This goes to people like Carl Rove too. Sure, I REALLY disagree with his treatment of Christine O’Donnell, but some here are calling him Tokyo Rove! Good grief. After 8 years of admiration one mistake and he is Tokyo Rove?

It sounds like he did something wrong, and then did a number of other things right. Also, he’s not Andrew Cuomo.

AMEN! And he made it right, not only with God, but with his wife, the baby and the baby's mother. That's repentance.

Oh, the irony....

I did a google search on Andrew Cuomo and divorce and came up with more than I expected.

He’s got far more dirt in that area than Carl has.

I don’t recall what sources are permitted on FR, but just to say that anyone who’s interested can find the same.

What I got on a google search is that both Andrew and his wife have both cheated on each other, they’ve getting divorced, fighting a custody battle over the kids, and he’s living with his current girlfriend.

If his campaign managers are going to try mud slinging against Carl in the moral purity and integrity in private lives area, they’d have been better off making sure their candidate was squeaky clean in that area of his life.

And he’s not.

This is going to come back and bite him... bad....

I did. Posts 28 and 29, although I didn’t post any links.

LOTS of ammo for anyone who wants to go that road against Carl.

Why is it moral wrongs like running around on one's spouse gets democrats elected and republicans defeated?

I think it's because republican voters tend to vote for candidates who have a high moral standard so they (the voters) can feel better about their country (i.e., people with morals and ethics in power)...

while democrat voters tend to prefer candidates with a low moral standard so they (the voters) can feel better about themselves (hey, I'm no worse a person than the governor!).

Anyone remember John Edwards, Bubba Clintoon, and 98% of the DC Elitists who are probably doing the same thing.

It’s the social part of conservatism that looks for morality in political leaders, and conservatives generally look to the Republican Party to provide them. The Republican Party traditionally has been the home of conservatism.

Democrat voters tend to be emotionally based, rather than rationally based, and very self-serving.

college records
foreign campaign funding
birth certificate
relationship with his room mate
cocaine and other drug use

It’s similar to what Rosalyn Carter said about their former supporters voting for Reagan: it made them feel more comfortable with their own prejudices.

He's a Democrat. They are only disqualified, morally, after the 17th serial rape or the 3rd murder.

A Republican, however, is morally disqualified after any traffic violation or late-paid bill, ever.

He who is without sin cast the first stone.

LEAVE THE MAN ALONE!!

He isn't a Coumo. I do not care about his sex life.

I swear you moral police are bound and determined to leave the Dems in charge.

Time for EVERYBODY to follow Reagan's 11 commandment and just shut the hell up and let him pound the stuffing out of Coumo.
