Not lunancy at all. The War on the Drugs represents the worst sort of police state/nanny state and blacks are the primary victims. The only “lunancy” is that all too many conservatives don’t realize this.
The drug laws only enrich the modern Al Capones and the policemen and prosecutors they bribe and otherwise corrupt.
Everything be racist.
Just like locking up criminals. As 13% of the US population accounts for 50%+ of the crime, it MUST be racism at work!!! Couldn’t POSSIBLY be FACTUAL!!!
Spoken by someone who has no clue about the devastation drug dealing has on a poor community.
My ancestors were soooooooooooo racist. No matter what the issue, it can be traced back to one of my countrymen.
I’m going to start saying racist like people say “joooooooooooos” to mock anti-Semites.
The raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaciiiiiissstttsss did it.
You’re silly. If black simply gave up drugs there’d be few people left to be caught and guys like you would be INVISIBLE ~ very hard to catch.
Huh? Please translate.
When you have a whole sea of druggies the cops know where to go. When the druggies are few in number and safe at home watching old Beetles movies, the cops have no idea where to go.
Devastation?! That describes the status quo under the CURRENT WOD to a T. Thousands of young, talented black men are now in prison or dead in turf wars because of the WOD. Any motivation to build solid family relationships is destroyed. The police, helmeted and kicking down doors (Sheriff Andy they are not)are acting like foreign occupiers in poor black neighborhoods. Meanwhile young white offenders (about as alike to use drugs as blacks) are given a slap on the wrist and sent home to momny and daddy. How you can sleep at night?

Martin Luther King Blvd.
It's not. Hasn't been for a very long time.
There's a hard core 5% of the black community whose very lives consist of doing crime. Eventually that problem will be taken care of but at this particular segment of history the solutions are unpopular.
Uh, that doesn't include imprisoning anybody ~
The levels of illegal drug use are about the same but the punishment is different e.g. young black offenders are sent to jail (and we know what that leades to) while white offenders are sent to their families. I am not primarily blaming racism for this. A good part of it is the fact the black families are so weak that judges are less likely to send the kids home for that reason. These harsh facts helped to create that “5 percent.”
Sure, the cops go to MLK Blvd. but that doesn’t change the fact that whites are about as likely to use illegal drugs as blacks.
“Thank God we got penitientiaries.” - Richard Pryor
http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/race.htm says none of that is true. Did you know that KOREANS are just over 3 times as likely as CHINESE to smoke cigarettes (in America).
Thanks for the link. I’ll dig out the stats I have from another source when I get the chance. Assuming the figures you provide are the correct ones, however, the difference in illicit drug use is not great e.g. 9.2 percent for blacks versus 8.1 for whites. Didn’t know about the cigarette use figures but I suppose it makes sense given the “driven” nature of high achievers.
Penitientaries are the greatest producers of crime, bar none. A lot of folks should be working and paying restitution and not in jail.
True, we’ve turned our prisons into “Criminal U”.
