In answer t headline: Because he is correct. If you are catching flak, you must be over the target. He hit a nerve. etc.
“But to deny the passing observation a nuanced historical context, thereby rendering the blue and gray in moralistic black and white, is to trivialize Lincoln’s agony, for which our 16th president is properly venerated.”
Now that ‘er sum high-falutin’ language right there!
Can someone provide a better explanation of Obama’s hostility to Great Britain, and his insulting gift to the Queen, and other slights? Britain was governed by a Euro-Leftist at the time, it makes no sense. Only this “Kenyan” thing offers a reasonable clue. Those that can’t even give this thesis the time of day are being disengenuous or mendacious or both.
I love D’Souza...I went out and bought “Letters to a Young Conservative” and his Reagan book.
In my opinion, this article in Forbes was a bit provocative...but so what? Liberals write about conservatives in provocative manner all the time.
Dinesh is just turning it on them.
The bookend to D’Souza’s thesis is Spengler’s (aka David Goldman) 2008 pre-election Asia Times article “Who is Barak Obama” that eloquently and accurately describes who Obama is in the context of the women in his life. Google the article title in the Asia Times 2008 by Spengler and I think you might find that along with D’Shouza, not many questions go unanswered about Obama and his sorry agenda for America..
There is no doubt in my mind.
With this understanding of the underpinnings of mentality and moral compass of Mr. Obama (which we Americans already know from his body language around the world in bowing and sublimating the US to nearly every power we meet-particularly adversaries), the tyrants in the capitals from Teheran to Pyongyang, from Caracas to Islamabad, have been most pleased...but that won't continue for long. (November and hopefully thereafter at least until 2017, God willing)
“Can someone provide a better explanation of Obamas hostility to Great Britain, and his insulting gift to the Queen, and other slights?”
Yes. Not because he is Kenyan, but he thinks this is how he thinks Kenyans think and he wants an attachment to his father. But Kenyans do not hate Brits and are part of the Commonwealth.
The rest is worthless. Obama is an Urban White Liberal/Progressive, at least on the outside. On the inside, he is mostly a conman.
Judging by the hysterical reaction of Robert Gibbs, David Axelrod and Barry, it’s clear that D’Souza hit the nail on the head. The Dems throw a tantrum when a journalist actually presents some facts about Barry. Major media outlets are working overtime in a craven effort to discredit the article, despite knowing that it is essentially truthful.
That doesent explain his radicalism. He doesent behave like he cares about getting reelected; most leftist politicians in this country would play the game better than he does. I suspect that if the Pubs take the House and Senate, he'll just use the Executive Branch to take over as much of the country as he can (ie oil regs, FCC reg, Union favors, etc, EPA regs, etc) and to heck with getting reelected or pandering to the middle class. Its more than narcissism, IMO.
Indeed. Remember when Zero sent back that bust of Churchill the UK lent to the White House in 2001 and which had occupied a cherished spot in GWB's Oval Office?
Check out L. E. Ikenga's articles from last year on American Thinker especially Obama, the African Colonial
, which Rush read aloud on his program.
On the contrary. D'Souza's anti-neocolonialist argument goes far to explaining Obama's yearning to cut America down to size among nations. Contrast Obama with the Moron on the Dime, who, after Hitler and Tojo ended the Depression he couldn't, and despite being a liberal and a progressive
, won WW2 and pushed the US to first among nations. FDR at least was a patriot. Obama is not.
We are living an ‘un aired’ episode of Twilight Zone ... the nation is not only bankrupt, we are suicidally compounding the indebtedness beyond even what our great grandchildren could repay, yet the bastards in media skip merrily along reporting on MooChelle’s dresses or Barry the bastard’s cigarette habit or Rahm Emanuel’s homosexual proclivities or ‘why the panic, you still have Internet and junk food’ or ‘what’s not to love about the fascist abortion of the Republic? ... Where are the damned guillotines?
Obama isn't anti-business he just wants control of the throttle.
i.e. the USA is in deep do-do with this turkey.
Very good point. He imagines himself this avenging African hero, but he resembles actual, real live Africans as much as the cast of Jersey Shore resembles your average resident of Milan.
This is a brilliant and insightful analysis that provides an entirely plausible explanation for Obama's antipathy toward western countries in general, and capitalism in particular.
I didn’t find D’Souza’s “Forbes” piece fully persuasive, but there’s no doubt it had some interesting and probably accurate insights.
Doesn’t help us do anything productive toward getting rid of Zero, of course.
“Where are the damned guillotines?”
I was thinking exactly the same thing myself today. Watching the systematic dismantling of our once great country I can better understand today how great revolutions arose, and brought emotions to a fever pitch that drove people to vengeful actions. The self-serving politicians who are responsible for pushing this country to the edge of insolvency need to be run out of town if not incarcerated.
Imam Rauf should be passing out this book instead of the one praising Islam when he travels the Middle East.
...but that would make him a bridge-builder.
