Well, she just lost a $35 donation from me due to this:
My employer and occupation are none of her business. Neither is my cell phone number (I don’t have a land line).
Guess she doesn’t need the money that bad.
Those are federal requirement on giving. Here’s what you do: employer: “self”
occupation: “businessman/woman”
It’s a federal regulation that she get this information.
I believe it’s the law. They have to have a record of your name and employer.
I think she is REQUIRED to ask those questions, they have been asked on every online donation page I have seen. Just put down retired, or unemployed, nobody will ever know.
Of course, at some time in the future when you are running for office against a RINO, Tokyo Rove will find out about it and tell it on Fox news....then you will be sorry.....LOL!
well you could send her a check or a money order....better yet, buy her a “gift card”...I understand they were very popular with the bama crooks...
I think that is federal law. Every campaign requires that same info. She isn’t snooping on you.
Just do what I did. Employer: 'Self' ; Occupation: 'Software developer'.
After all, we all really *do* work for ourselves, don't we?. I'm sure Christine doesn't want to know what a million people DO for a living. If you feel that threatened, just make something up.
Required. Aren’t you now the CEO of Tokyo Rove Inc. :)
It’s the LAW
I believe they are requried to collect info by federal law. Blame McCain-Feingold.
While they are required to ask, there is nothing that says you have to answer then truthfully though as far as I know.
She has to ask the employer and occupation questions per FEC regulations. Also, you don’t need to give your phone number unless you want to.
Name: Wile E. Coyote, Occupation: Genius, Employer: ACME Tool and Die.
remember 0bambi in his credit card drive on the internet TURNED OFF ALL THE SAFETY PARAMETERS...
so you could enter multiple names with different middle initials, no 3 number code required, no address spelling corect etc....
She's required to ask for that info.
Too bad. Every state has Ethics Commissions and this information must be provided by every donor and is reported to that state on forms provided. Those of us who serve as financial officers in any kind of political organization are overwhelmed with the paperwork that must be completed during an election year. The fines, at least in Texas, are substantial for failure to comply. Contributions from a Corporate or other types of organizations cannot be accepted. Hopefully you will now change your mind and contribute.
I believe those are FEC rules, not hers. Gotta know who’s donating money dontchaknow. Besides, you could put in “N/A” for employer, and “unlisted” for phone - maybe.
Hmmmm, I left Employer blank yesterday.
Pessimist, it’s the law, man. Have you not given to political candidates in the last 15 years?
You can put anything on there. It is not as if they are going to check you out. It’s the law that they ask those questions.
