So you agree that burning a Koran is inconsistent with Jesus?
Do you agree that you do not live your life as Jesus did?
A while back, on his show Bull Sh?t, he took the opportunity to take several Bibles, throw them on the floor and use several (and I mean several) expletives to describe them. Instead of just saying he disagrees with Christianity and the Bible, he felt it necessary to be as obscene as he could possibly be in describing Christians and the Bible.
“And long before the Nazi’s got into the exterminating business they were burning any books that conflicted with their ideology in organized book-burning ceremonies.”
And General Sherman burned books in both public and private libraries in his march across the south. Is he a Nazi, too?
I don’t live my life anywhere close to how Jesus lived His.
But He provided the model which I should try to follow.
None of us can or do. Yet you apparently feel this pastor should?
Pennsylvania: Members of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Butler County, PA. had a book burning at their church on 2001-MAR-25:
Maine: A group of Christians in Lewiston, ME, the Jesus Party had planned to hold a book burning in a local park on 2001-NOV-15. However, they were denied a fire permit by the Fire Department. So they held a "book cutting" instead.
New Mexico: Pastor and members of the Christ Community Church in Alamagordo NM plan a "holy bonfire" on 2001-DEC-30 to burn Harry Potter books.
CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN RESPONSES TO THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS:
They could, if they wanted to 'make a case' of it.
They don't.
In this 'case', Obama and Petraeus have already publicly stated that burning the Korans would endanger the SECURITY and SAFETY of US TROOPS.
The only reason they are saying that is not because of their 'fear' for the troops, but because it sanctifies an arrest. Hey, I could be completely wrong, and hope I am. We will see.
I wish.... but I don't know if it is legally possible. Maybe if he has a complete meltdown.
Sure. Do you think that will stop them, if they decide they must 'quell this disturbance' ?
No. Once you are a dhimmi, you will have no legal rights, no power, and are lower than a dog, so you aren't much of Security Risk. Neighborhoods will be controlled by Turban hooded thugs who carry guns, and a prayer rug. If you act up, you will just be eliminated. No need for the Feds. There won't even be any 'FEDS' as they will all be Caliphates, Imams, and Mullahs.
We might get to stand back and watch the Mexicans and the Muslims duke it out for the throne.
I will never be a dhimmi. Free or dead are the only things I will be.
Exactly. Which puts the troops in more jeopardy — when a preacher burns a Koran or when the leader of the Senate announces that the war we’re in the middle of fighting is lost?
Both are stupid
Orders of magnitude of difference between them. The left is in a twist about this preacher but they didn’t bat an eyelash at the leader of the Senate doing a much stupider thing.
Nonsense.
"Idiots" more than "Nazis" probably.
“And General Sherman burned books in both public and private libraries in his march across the south. Is he a Nazi, too?
Nonsense.”
I see you can’t, or won’t, answer the question.
Because it's an idiotic question. I've read a lot about the Southern Rebellion and Sherman's campaign and nowhere did I come across a single instance where Sherman organized a book burning. But then again I'm not up on all the Lost Cause fantasy sites that are out there so maybe you can point me to something that describes them? This should be amusing.
I see you have your usual weasel words to change the premise. You’re right, Sherman didn’t go into the south with an address book of which buildings to burn; so therefore, the burning wasn’t organized. But it was widespread, and the burning included libraries.
“In the center of the campus (University of Alabama) and immediately in front of the approaching Federals, about eighty-five yards away from the main road, stood the Rotunda, home of the Universitys library and natural history collection. Standing in front of the Rotunda were several members of the faculty, including André Deloffre, University librarian and professor of French and Spanish, and Dr. William S. Wyman, professor of Latin and Greek. Colonel Johnston, mounted on a white horse (it was said he sat stiffly), approached the group and made his purpose known. The University was to be burned.

“Then at last the courier returned, the generals answer was disheartening. My orders leave me no discretion, wrote Croxton. My orders are to destroy all public buildings.
(This next passage should warm your little liberal heart.)
“What happened next has become a part of the University of Alabamas mythic fabric. It is said that Colonel Johnston, lamenting the destruction of such a fine library, decided to salvage one volume as a memento. Perhaps he sent one of his aides, or perhaps he sent Librarian Deloffre, or perhaps he went himself, to take one book from the library. The book saved was an English translation of The Koran: Commonly Called ‘The Alcoran Of Mohammed,’ published in Philadelphia in 1853.”
“Federal troops then began throwing flaming combustibles through the open door of the Rotunda and onto the roof. In a matter of minutes, the building was engulfed in flames. The raiders then turned their attention to the other buildings, and soon almost the entire campus was ablaze.”
