If the traveling salesmen and other contractors are still in Iraq, some of them singing Obama’s praises, then our troops are still there manning the weapons.
Just got a more detailed message from him. His weapon was also lost. He was outside the squad tent about 10pm. First mortar (not RPG) landed and he ran into the tent waking everyone. He ran out the back of the tent just as another landed in the front of the tent when it exploded and set everything on fire. No American casualties. Some Iraqi soldiers tried to defuse one of the total of 14 launched mortar rounds which did not expose but it exploded in their faces. Casualties unknown for them.
So, I won't.
Things are getting dicey in Baghdad as well.
Some of the *other* contractors are working right alongside the military, doing the same things they do.
I don't know of any of them singing Obama's praises, but maybe you do.
Of course the troops are still here. They drew down to 50,000; they didn't pull out.
Why take it so personally? I wasn’t talking about those of you who take up arms right along side our troops. I was talking about those traveling salesmen whom you protect. I should clarify something about my post. I have nothing against traveling salesmen. They’re an important part of our economy. I’m glad they have the protection of our troops. I just don’t like it when someone pretends to be something more than they are, and tries to take credit for other people’s deeds. Especially when those other people are great American heroes. And then to turn around and deny the role of our troops in their life is just too much. I was thinking about just such a person when I made that post. A person who came to Obama’s defense, and suggested he should be trusted over the AP on this matter. This, from a person with a history of pretending to be a great American warrior. This is the lowest form of treason, don’t you agree?
We have very valuable military people shedding blood in countries that are worth virtually nothing.
Let's get all ground troops of all kinds the heck out of "Afgan-ee-stan" and Iraq;
Eliminate the nuclear threat from Iran;
Quadruple surveillance activities;
Identify possible threats and immediately eliminate them;
Buffer and strengthen Israel;
And then let these countries fend for themselves....as they have been doing for the last 5,000 years or so.
We can replace the oil we obtain from this region by drilling for our own.
Other than that, the only other import from that region is rugs...and we have enough of them.
I didn't come to his defense - I pointed out that the wording was off. The media is pushing this "combat is over" thing when that's really not what the Pentagon or anyone else has said. "The combat mission has ended..." was the quote and it represents the DoD's stance. Obama just said it and yes, he also caused it with that stupid timeline crap. We are now in an "Advise and Assist" role. It doesn't mean combat has ended, it means the US has given the responsibility for its security back to Iraq.
You'll note that I prefaced my comment with "I despise Obama..."

And I have never pretended to be anything other than what I am. I have even corrected people on here who have thought I was military and have deflected the kind remarks they have made to the military. You don't know me and you know nothing about me and I find your insults completely uncalled for.
Why would you think that description fit you? I didn’t post to you, mention you, quote you, or involve you in any way. There’s a big difference between a traveling salesman and a woman who takes up arms along side our troops. I was talking about a traveling salesman, and I said so. I apologize if something I said struck a nerve.
