How much do you have to pay, or what behavior or crime must you have on a Senator, to compel them to commit Treason?

What ever that threshold is, it has been reached in the case of Hatch!

How can he look his family, and grandkids in the face knowing that he has sold out their future?
POX on Hatch and his fellow RINO herd.

Looks like Hatch is making it official he’s not running for re-election next time.

I don’t know when RINO Hatch is up for re-election. He is like McCain, a worthless fossil.

Orrin needs to take a break from his role as Islam’s useful idiot in the Senate and ponder the words of Robert Jackson, chief United States prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court:

“There is danger that, if the court does not temper its doctrinaire logic with a little practical wisdom, it will convert the constitutional Bill of Rights into a suicide pact.”

Anyone know where Mitt Romney stands on the mosque?

You mean right now or five minutes from now?

Good old Orin--always Mr. Nice Guy. If he had an analytical brain (or much of any kind of brain), he could understand the movement behind the mosque and the man(Rauf) who has denigrated the US.

It is also my understanding that this site is about 600 yards from Ground Zero, not several blocks away. Didn't I read or hear there is already a mosque 2 city blocks away?

Orin needs some time with family and especially grandchildren--retire, Orin!

I’m bitterly disappointed. I’ve actually met and spoken to him and have been his fan for years.

State legislatures used to appoint Senators.

If we reverted to that, I hate to think who would be appointed by the ultra-liberal Democrats in Sacramento to represent California. Boxer would easily be re-appointed to another term this year. At least with election, Fiorina the Republican has a chance. Dianne Feinstein might not be liberal enough for the Democrats in Sacramento. So someone even more liberal could be California’s other senator is we didn’t have the 17th amendment.

That would explain why he was so chummy with Leahey that day.

At one time, back in the 1980s, Hatch was actually a real conservative. But being in Washington that long transforms people for the worst. Always for the worst.

Orrin Hatch said:
We know there are Muslims killed on 9/11 too and we know it’s a great religion...
I'm amazed at that; absolutely amazed. A Religion that oppresses women and thinks they do Allah service by blowing up ice cream Parlors and killing the "infidels" and little children.... HEY ORRIN; SHUT UP.

Orin Hatch is a corrupt old whore. He has been double dealing in Washington for decades. An Amendment passed in to law bearing his name required educators to inform parents of everything their children were being taught in public schools.

This was the result of the behavior modification being applied to children without the knowledge of parents who were being undermined by teachers applying “Values Clarification” to their children.

The Hatch Amendment was ignored by the schools. I phoned Hatch’s office some years later and asked why violation of the law was being allowed. One of his staff told me that as a conservative legislator Hatch could not interfere in what was being done in the states.

This was of course Bu*lsh#t. Hatch got his legislation passed and gained the support of parents. He then refused to force compliance by the schools and gained the support of the education lobby.

Orin Hatch is a really skilled politician. He is also a corrupt whore.

Never trust a politician. Don’t ever trust them, no matter what they’ve done in the past.

They’ll turn on anyone over a buck. All of them, and the saudi cashole is flowing.

As an active FReeper going back to the late nineties, I’ve seen how spinelessness is more the norm than the exception with Orrin....

This has been especially true of his “leadership” role in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

It’s frustrating, to be sure. But nothing new.

I met him at the S JC about 10 years ago and I thought he provided strong leadership on that occasion. I guess I let that dazzle me.
