There is no question that Muslims have a right to build a mosque where they chose to. Sowell at least still believes in property rights. Many here would disagree with him, however.

Did you read the next sentence? Where Dr Sowell writes The real question is why they chose that particular location, in a country that covers more than 3 million square miles.

Why are so many government parties anxious to help this imam out? It’s like there’s an unwritten deal that if the mosque is built, then both sides can declare victory and call the Long War over.

This is only one of many similarities that are surfacing between Islam and the American Left.Exactly, and it'll hurt them this November. I believe it'll hurt Obama and the left far more in 2012.

Sowell at least still believes in property rights. Many here would disagree with him, however. This is NOT a property-rights issue. Never has been. No one questions their "right" to build it (subject to zoning rules, approvals, etc etc). We're questioning why they want to build it on THIS PARTICULAR SPOT. And if you think about it, you'll know the reason why.

Liberals would ‘get’ this if a Christian group wanted to build a 60 foot cross next to every abortion clinic in the country. They would throw that ‘religion’ excuse right out the door... Liberals are beneath contempt on this one...
