Even the local news anchors in Memphis at least on News 3 failed to mention that Dr. Alveda King was a speaker.

” Definitely not, unless you hate this country. There are a LOT of good people running on the Pub ticket.”

Of course I love my country which is why I’m willing to let it bring about its own collapse as to learn from that foolishness and get a fresh start.

A country cannot die like a human being even if it becomes legally separated into many part it still exist just in a different form. A Country is a people and culture.

Right now our country is very sick due to the behavior of its government, that government needs to be allowed to destroy itself, so that the country may be rid of it and have a chance to reform.

“I will say if I lived in Alaska and Murky cheats to get on the ballot, I would vote the Libertarian.”

Do you mean to vote for or against Murky?

Murky in Alaska was planing on cheating to get on the Libertarian ballot. But you could just as well be referring to her stealing the primary election to get on the republican ballot...

I’m not an Alaskan either and thus I have no vote or stake in this race. But if I were I would strongly appose Murky given what she said about her rather limited regard for the limits of our Federal Constitution. Murky supports expansive and unenumerated Federal Powers which is invariably very bad for the people and State of Alaska.

and they would have to be on drugs to think that those willing to travel any distance at all to be there would be voting for more of the SAME!

Ross Asshat, in typical NYT fashion, has no idea what they are experiencing ...

Yes, a laughable attempt by a liberal (in 'Gorillas in the midst' fashion) to understand these conservative patriotic creatures (hundreds, not tens of thousands Rossy) descending into D.C. to present their view of real Hope and Change.

a tent revival crossed with a pep rally intertwined with a history lecture married to a U.S.O. telethon

Ross, you say this like these are 'bad' things?

There was piety — endless piety … as speaker after speaker demanded that Americans rededicate themselves to God

Oh yes, let's cut out that piety stuff. Demanded? LOL. Do you feel guilty Ross of not being personally pious enough?

a sinister Christian nationalism lurked beneath the surface

There you go again. Sinister?! Christian?! You've got to be kidding. I await your similar description of Islam. (crickets).

a gross affront to the memory of King

And yet, you can't even bring yourself to mention the presence of Dr. Alveda King.

Beck’s “Restoring Honor” was like an Obama rally through the looking glass

Perhaps the unkindest cut of all. You see, Glenn Beck, you are no better than the poseur-in-Chief. Except that it wasn't all about you and you didn't say “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for” like the false messiah. No, you gave glory to the true Messiah!

Well done, Glenn. You are a good and faithful servant!

I’m starting to think we might be better off if we deliberately lose this election. Or at least deliberately fail to show up to vote for any lackluster Federal republican.

You call this drivel, thinking? Stop it, your head is going to explode and you will blow your ass off.

“I’m starting to think we might be better off if we deliberately lose this election.”

dude, no.

We need to elect as many tea party types as possible this year. And next year, and the year after that, etc.

It took decades to get us to the sorry state we are in. We are not going to turn it around in one or two election cycles.

People need to be committed to this for the long haul and to realize we are not going to win every battle or every race.

But, if we stay active slowly but surely we WILL take our country back from the leftists and their RINO and elitist enablers.

I tend to agree with you. Say the Republicans sweep in Nov., end up doing nothing or things get worse, and 2012 goes back to the Dems, including idiot Obama being re-elected. I sure don’t like that picture. But hopefully enough true conservatives with guts will be elected and will stand up to Obama and the dems and get things turned around. We can only hope and pray. There are just so many rinos out there that I just don’t know what to expect.

It seems that Douthat almost choked to death getting this little diddy of an article out - probably lost his lunch too ;—)

You're posting on the wrong board, in that case. You ought to try Huffington Post or DU.

ahahaha

that's what I was thinking Sat. after watching the event...that is was going to really suck for all the lib media that were waiting on baited breath to tear it all apart...to ‘report’ on all the hate, etc.

I could hear the gnashing of teeth...as there was no place for attack without looking even more ridiculous than they normally do.

Beck “end runned” them - Master Stroke!

And I think I felt the reverberation of the demRats politicians crying in their beer as they watched these hundreds of thousands of REAL PEOPLE gathered there - and knowing for every person there, there were 20 or more across the land that with them in spirit. November looms loud and gloomy for the lib/progressive/commie/Islama lovers.

I love the “tens of thousands” figure. This doofus, like other Leftists, simply cannot admit that the crowd pushed one million. LOL!

Yes, but the Libs’ ability and determination to flood the media with hate speech about conservatives is always there. We’ll know how much power they still have after the election.

Douthat is an egotist who patronizes right & left equally, but seems to prefer when he can condescend to the right. Now that Dave Brooks is back to concentrating on his spurious occult interests, the New York Times Co. has a reliable house-conservative once more. This is one of the anthropologist-style that are typically done better by David Weigel or James Fallows.

Thanks, Ross, for informing me what *YOU* had thought about Beck’s “star” and how *YOU* now think that *YOU* underestimated him. Such noble prose

Dick Morris just on Hannity - he now predicts we take both the house AND the senate.

Barring something unforeseen, we'd still have 2 years of the ultimate enemy in the WH - but what fun watching him squirm. He'll not only be a lame duck - both wings will be clipped.

I'm wondering if an uber narcissist could handle that.

D Morris has been reading my post :-)...

Go here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2580314/posts?page=11#11

Yes the Senate is where the action is IMHO...

Unions will poor tons of money into them and get Ogats in return.

Santorum on Bennett 2 fridays ago said that 3 or 4 of them are replacement seats (Biden, Obama, Byrd, ?) and have to be seated right away. These wins are critical. They can stop the 60 in the Senate, and stop Obama's automatic Cloture.

It hit me a week or so ago and it has been the only bright spot in 20 months and that is....

Many don't see it yet, but the Obama adminstration is effectively over. It is the same gut feel that had me watching this cutie pie that one a big election in Alaska 3 or 4 years ago here on the Freep and about 22 posted comments. I can feel it.

You are looking ahead. What is Obama going to do with the bills the Republicans pass? He has already proven himself quite willing to go around Congress, to use his Czars, to "just do it". What is he going to do? Is Obama going to lash out? He's never had to deal with anyone to the right of Howard Dean in his life.

The GOP leadership, being the clueless, self-serving, naive morons that they are, are going to be clueless and moronic in dealing with a lawless, out of control President. There are a couple Repubs in there now, Darrell Issa, who know how to use the powers delegated to Congress and combined with real world Tea Party folks, there's a chance they can force some real investigations on what Obama is doing with the Federal Government (using the IRS to audit political opponents, Justice Dept, refusal to indict the Black Panthers, Obama's policy on captured terrorists, Obama and the border, Obama and Arizona, Obama and not enforcing the law, Obama and the Gulf oil drilling moratorium, and the EPA) that they could stay busy for the next 4 years.

The GOP has to be prepared from Day 1 to fight as hard as they have ever fought.

Obama isn't a good loser. He's going to lash out. He's going to punish the people for rejecting him.
