Roads around the memorial were closed, even at 4:45am I dropped my mother-in-law and three of my children off as close as I could. They joined a whole bunch of others already on their way.
I found free street parking on 15th. Sweet! 20 minutes later I was at the Lincoln Memorial. It was dark so you couldn't see the whole crowd but you could tell it was huge. When they made an announcement, a crowd roar rose out of the darkness. I guessed there were 25,000 at 5:30am.
At 6:50am, we headed up 19th St to Starbucks. The reflecting pool area was about half full at that point. Starbucks was jammed. Took over an hour. When we passed by the WWII at 8:30am to get back to our seats, the place was full and was almost to the Washington Monument.
By 10am, not only in front of the Lincoln Memorial but also the sides were filled to capacity. Adding those areas together equals around 600k+.
Mood was festive and happy. Everyone kind and eager to help. Crowded but not pressing. We had a blanket down and a chair with a cooler. Very comfortable.
We were just in this side of the second IMAG on the right side about 500 yards from the stage next to the pool. The IMAGS and sound were amazing. Everything was crystal clear.
Introduction started at 9:50am and Glenn came out at 10am. The place went crazy.
You can watch the rest.
Again, a great day.
I watched the start on Cspan - looked like a lite turnout. Glad it filled up. Every time I looked on Fox they were covering sharpton’s gig.

Great pics! I like the one with the little girl waving the flag with her hand on her heart. Let’s hear it for the younger generation!
AWESOME.
Me and the significant other should of jumped on the Acela from Boston last night.
I wish i thought of this a few days ago.
Looks like a bunch of evil racists to me.
Let's see. How about 2.
Excellent, Thank You very much!
Do you think that might be sufficient?
and i’ll bet afterward, the place will be as clean as a whistle with no American Flags in the trash.
Glad to see you on duty, SIR!
