Bears repeating:
"The fact that members of Murkowski's campaign team are trying to orchestrate a third-party run for Lisa Murkowski proves once more she's a Republican in name only, which has been our contention all along," said Amy Kremer, Chairman of the Tea Party Express.

EXCLUSIVE: Alaska LP Senate Candidate Dave Haase Is ‘Huge Sarah Palin Fan’

Posted on | August 26, 2010 | 13 Comments

Libertarian Party sources in Anchorage say they’ve been deluged with phone calls today from media and “political types” asking about the LP line on the ballot, which is Lisa Murkowski’s only hope to remain in the Senate unless her NRSC lawyer can find a way to steal the GOP nomination from Joe Miller.

Murkowski’s supporters “want us to keep an open mind and not say ‘no’ immediately” to their suggestion that LP Senate nominee Dave Haase step aside and let the incumbent Republican senator run as the Libertarian candidate on the Nov. 2 ballot.

In an e-mail Thursday to Ace of Spades HQ contributor Drew M., Haase praised Murkowski as a “smart lady” and said he had voted for her in the GOP primary.

However, the person who might be most able to sway Haase’s decision is none other than Sarah Palin.

I had just posted that on this thread:

Alaskan Cites 'Common Sense' Voters For Sen. Lead RACHEL D'ORO, Associated Press WriterANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) ― A conservative Alaska lawyer credits his primary vote lead over U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski largely to "common sense" voters dissatisfied with the direction taken by Congress and President Barack Obama. "Everybody understands the entitlement state is over," Joe Miller told The Associated Press on Thursday. "We can't continue to expend at the rate we're expending." Miller, 43, of Fairbanks, stunned political pundits this week with his 1,688-vote lead over Murkowski in the Republican primary. Murkowski, who was appointed by her father in 2002...

No, what really bears repeating is she hasn’t even officially lost yet, and she’s exploring the possibility of an independent campaign before the outcome is even known. Talk about panic.

Good job TPX...

Now what do you have to say about your endorsement of Idaho Rep. Walt Minnick D? That’s “D” as in DEMOCRAT. His first vote in congress was to confirm Pelosi as Speaker. If he is reelected his first vote next year will be for Pelosi.

All this news explains why Cornyn’s Republican Senate Campaign committee is not answering their phone. I called three times and it must have rung 40 times each time, then stopped ringing and started to send Morse code sounds. Real Professional! That is what I told Cornyn’s regular Senate number.

Alaska Libertarian Party Chairman Scott should be asshamed of himself to be honest. By dangling this idea out there. Thats like running Obama as a Libertarian. How dumb can you get? How can you educate ppl about the philosophy by using your enemy to run as your ticket?!?! AGAINST the very person who is closer to your philosophy Joe Miller. Aren’t you betraying your principles?!

Related, from Newsmax:

“...Tea Party Express co-founder Sal Russo tells Newsmax it is “somewhat outrageous” that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would expend resources helping Murkowski, given her refusal to disavow running as a Libertarian or independent if she ultimately loses.

“The Senate committee should be unequivocal about, you know, they’ll help Joe Miller if she’s not going to pull out [of the race if she loses]. I mean, she’s forfeited in my opinion, any support from any Republican if she keeps that door open. Period. That’s totally unacceptable,” he says.”

—Absolutely agree.
