The Smithsonian station is the closest to the monuments.

How about walking across the bridge from Arlington Cemetery station?

To caww and all that sent me advice:

I would write individual replies of thanks, but I am not too fast on this p keyboard. My two duaghters, their friend and I have arrived at our hotel. The ride down from PA went smooth. We stopped in the small village of Thurmont for supper. It was great. Along the way, my girls were receiving texts from friends that are going to the rally. It is really amazing how many people we did not know that were going who are actually going. I think there is some fear about talking about this to co-workers and casual acquaintences.

We are going to say our prayers and try to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long and probably emotional day. I will be posting from the rally live. I am such a proud daddy right now.

I don't know if pedestrians are allowed on the bridge.

My guesses for those who will be awarded the Medals of Merit tomorrow are:
FAITH: David Barton

HOPE: Dr. Alveda King

CHARITY: Jon Huntsman, Sr.

And how about BRAVERY: GLENN BECK

I see what you are saying... Something in me feels that there will be some lefties there posing as “Tea Partiers” who will shout racist comments and other things to discredit the event and the movement.

Our group of 6 all wanted to watch the live stream, so we took the laptop to the hotel lobby and set it up. We gathered chairs around and watched the pre-show. When they opened the show with a prayer, I heard far more than 6 “amens”, since I’d been knitting and watching the screen, didn’t realize that a group had gathered. I moved away and counted - 26 people!

A couple of others also set up laptops and we pretty much filled the lobby through most of the event. Some peeled off to head to the mall, some to bed, all were happy to have been in this group.

I am SO looking forward to tomorrow!

I kind of agree in a way, but who cares what Obie thinks? I like a lot of Beck’s stuff, don’t always agree with everything, but don’t have to. He’s putting pressure on Congress, and helping to wake up America. That’s good enough for me. I love watching the media coverage of this- it really irks them that anyone thinks differently than them. So many decades of working towards socialism, only to get within grasp of it, and dang it-people protest against it. Not going, but my thanks and prayers go out to those going.

I’m not convinced the Million Man March was underestimated by anyone but the press. I was in D.C. at the time - it was massive. It too was about restoring honor. What went wrong?

Pedestrians will probably be allowed on the bridge tomorrow. On my way home from work today I saw flashing road work billboards that said bus unloading zone along VA route 110 which runs between the Potomac river and Arlington National cemetery. I've got to believe they are going to make some folks walk across the Memorial bridge to get to the rally. I just hope older folks don't have to make that trek.

I don't know if pedestrians are allowed on the bridge.

Apparently they are:

"Crossing the Potomac River, the bridge is 2,163 feet long and 75 feet wide, including a 15-foot pedestrian walkway. Nine beautiful arches cross the river on this bridge, which was once a drawbridge but is now inoperative. Kids love walking..."

I first heard him speak about 15 years ago. Glad he’s finally getting a larger megaphone - he’s been saying these things for decades.

If nothing else comes of it but massive contributions to SWOF, that’s great. Even better is some non-believers wake up to smell the eternal coffee.
