ABC employee
literally, making news MSM employees in the 1960s/70s used to take signs and blue, red, and yellow "protest banners" (Viet Cong flags) to "anti-war" rallies just in case the protesters forgot.
I do not how common this was but I certainly heard reports of it happening.

You don't think that news organizations are smart enough to just happen to have cameras at the right place and the right time for those fabulous clips and interviews....do you? The start of protest violence is usually well coordinated with the editors at the news desks. The hairdos and their cameramen and sound/lighting men would never get anything of importance if it weren't coordinated. It's not the movies, friends, where the story is driven by impossible coincidences and unnatural meetings.
If a tip is phoned in, it has to be assigned to a desk (local, national, sports, etc.), a reporter has to be found and available, a technical crew assembled, a vehicle assigned, gear loaded, travel time, setup, locating persons or action to shoot or interview, writing/scripting, etc., and then you're ready to shoot and interview.....it could take hours, and more likely...days. Nope. It's all organized. Believe me. I was in the industry for many years and news is mostly smoke and mirrors.

Get back to me when Christian and or Jewish terrorists kill 3000 Americans and then want to build a Church or Synagogue on their graves. A building is not what I was referring to. The US already has a legal system.
